Detective peralta walked through the bustling city streets, looking for the man in the white hat, the murderer. The problem was, he had become invisible with all the tourists around. It would be almost impossible to find him, but Peralta kept looking.
Suddenly as Peralta was scanning the crowd he noticed the white hat in the middle. He began speed walking to try and catch up with the man, he had almost reached him when their was a single gunshot. Screams could be heard and when Peralta had noticed what happened, the man in the white hat had vanished.
Detective Peralta had an idea of where the perpetrator had fled to. As he scanned the distance he saw the brim of the man’s hat disappear around a corner. He began to run quickly after the man, finally arriving at a bar full of drunks. He looked everywhere but he could not regain sight of the man who was now proving to be quite the elusive figure. Peralta suddenly felt a prod on the back of his neck, he looked back and to his astonishment there was the man with a gun pointed at him.
The man lead him out into an alley where Peralta suspected he might meet his final demise. Jake readied himself for his fate. Before pulling the trigger of his gun, the man laughed and said “you think you can take me down? you've always been a screw up Peralta!!!!! I realised that the second i met you, Captain Holt didnt see it. But i did. and now he will lose his favourite detective” he then lifted the gun and took aim.
Peralta heard a gunshot and dropped to the ground, screaming in pain "WHY? I WAS TOO YOUNG!!!!! OH GOD PLEASE NO"
Jake then realised he was not bleeding, he looked up to see the very confused face of his partner, Amy Santiago, then he saw the body of the man lying on the ground in front of him.
he then whispered to Amy, "I would appreciate if you didn't tell anyone about my alleyway freakout"....
Amy then smiled and replied with "i'm never dropping it"
Jake asked me to his grandmother's surprise birthday party. I hope she likes the gift. Heck, I hope she likes me.

while at the cottage in Chipping Norton we had an oil delivery (too rural for gas) and the woman who drove the tanker had a passenger in her cab - Jake. Jake is a Patterdale terrier, like Stan - and apparently he too has a lovely temperament.
I have had a busy day trying to do some of the things I'd normally do tomorrow, as well as visit my old ex next door neighbour, Doug (he used to be my Saturday park walker, but is now too immobile) and catch up with Max, who came round for a chat. Tomorrow we are hoping to visit the last day of the Klee exhibition at Tate Modern . . .
catching up as best I can . . .
we spotted him at the carnival and i knew i'd have to ask him. he had a confidence about him that many could only dream of. he was on his way to the bar, so i quickly explained the project and he happily posed. later on that night, we saw him, in all of his mohawk glory, hanging out in the bar.
thanks jake!! :)
Jake is an American Kestral. He has an injury on his right wing from a gunshot accident and can't live in the wild.
This is another shot from the Carolina Raptor Center's Photo WILD! event a few weeks ago. It was so amazing to get close to these birds!

Jake continues to be well. ;-)
This is the look I get after giving him his Flovent puffer.
He is pleading for a treat after.
Who could say no to those eyes?
(better large on black)
Have a great Sunday and week ahead.
(I'm back on night shifts)
Jake's stomach always rules, but he is a smart cat as well.
This will be the last video for awhile.
ENJOY, Flickr friends. :-))
46 years ago today (1978), on my sixth birthday, I received my first brand new out of the box Action Man Eagle Eyes Talking Commander (Who I named, Jake), We've been together for a real long time, and I wouldn't trade him for any other figure!
Talking Commander Description:
The basic Action Man Action Soldier figure from 1966, was joined by a talking version - the (talking) Commander in 1968. The first of the 'talkers', he spoke 8 phrases by pulling out a cord attached to his dog tag from his chest to coloured markers on cord. Upon letting the cord go it would speak one phrase whilst returning automatically. The talking Commander adopted flock hair in 1970 but retained the same outfit. In 1973 - for one year only - his name became "Talking Commander" - with 'Gripping Hands' a new jersey, peaked cap and muffler. he was replaced in 1974 by the non-talking Field Commander with his separate 'talking' Field Radio. In 1978 he came back - he gained the Eagle Eye head, new voice box with 5 phrases, had the all-new dynamic physique body (It had a sticker on box announcing such) and sported green trousers, becoming camouflage by 1981.
Action Man Talking Commander five phrases (from 1978) were (in random order):
"Enemy tanks approaching"
"Give me some cover"
"Send out the patrol"
"What’s the password"
"Advance in single file".

Jake and Elmo are seeing more and more of each other, and people are starting to talk. The truth is, though, that Jake is slightly infatuated but can't understand what Elmo is saying as Jake doesn't speak French and Elmo has no English. Meanwhile Elmo's eyes are fixed on a cute teddy being dragged along the grass by a toddler in the distance!
Jake and Elmo can also be seen on Zeon7's fantastic photostream here
