Jake
I so wanted to stitch these two pictures together into a two photo “mosaic” but lack the skill and/or the app.
Jake decided to take over one of Miracle’s napping spots. My DD says he just loves posing to have his picture taken. She just sent me a whole collage of them!

I haven't been on Flickr much but some of you may remember Jake and Joey. We lost Jake yesterday just a month short of their 20th birthday. We are so sad. (Jake is the white one)
Jake is wondering if he's been a good boy.. and if Santa will visit him and brother Bailey Christmas eve.

Offline tending to family "issues" most of the day and evening. Thank you for your understanding. I'll be by when I can.
Have a good weekend, everyone.
Jake has stashed dozens and dozens of peanuts in this area, now all he has to do is find them again. Actually, he seems to do that pretty well. Corvids, doncha know.
Not many of you guys may know this, but I've been an extremely adamant fan of Adventure Time since season one so many years ago! So to hear Lego was finally entering the Land of Ooo, I was so freaking excited!
Now most of my admiration really goes to Pendleton Ward and his team of writers and artists. The mere fact that Adventure Time really has no filter on where it's stories can go, while always making the content work within an established storyline is incredible! Like it uses throw-away lines and scenes to constantly hint at incredibly large, emotionally deep elements of story, while never quite having an episode dedicated to exposition of the world Finn and Jake live in. I mean like over the course of like four or five years we only get pieces of that, like an episode of Marceline and Ice King's past, which 90% of the episode is wrapped around their band practice, but simultaneously touching on the topic of Alzheimer's Disease and a Nuclear Apocalypse.... In a kids show! I could go on for hours on how many tough topics this show tackles but I won't for the sake of time, but damn, it handles it's content so well!
But this isn't the only episode like this! Funny enough, having a final message or moral isn't always the show's standard. Some episodes never have dialog, some never feature main characters at all, some episodes don't even use the same art style! And that blows me away, that a show can be so diverse and yet still work within the confines of this fantastic world building that Pendalton has done. It's a great way to tell stories because not a single episode is the same. Yet the team at Frederator Studios always manage to tie everything together. They practically re-invented what a kids show could be! That really hasn't been done since BTAS.
But on top of it being so diverse, the humor and fun surrounding the show is wonderful! Adventure Time brings so much joy and positive emotions that not a lot of shows do for me. It makes me feel like a kid, and the Adventure Time universe is just like the weird shit I thought of when I was little :P
It's cool to see this show explode to the popularity that it is today, but it still holds a personal connection to me, and I'll always hold these stories close to my heart.
Here's to these last few years of Adventure Time! I know I'm gonna miss this show when it's gone!

This photo and many others is made possible by my Patrons! I made my first bricklink order aided by these guys, for a few of these Bright-Light Orange parts, and it was nearly funded by them! :)
Mr Riley Pilgrim is our newest Patron! He's a little quiet on flickr, but perhaps a few followers will change that? He's tagged in the photo! Thanks Riley, you're a real champ! :) www.flickr.com/photos/140939300@N07
This is only a handful of Jake builds I've made! Besides these six, there are about seven more over on Patreon if you guy's wanna see them! Plus a good look at the build and photo set up! :)

Jake meets Batman and Robin (much cooler uniforms than when I was a kid). The guy playing Robin was a champ, marshalling the kids, reassuring the frightened ones, etc. Nicely done, Boy Wonder.
Jakes Creek flows through Elkmont, running behind several of the old abandoned cabins. This was probably prime real estate once, but now the cabins along the creek are abandoned and falling down.
Elkmont is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.
Jake likes to come to the yard and try to take charge of the does ... he will have a big surprise when the really big boys come in November lol !
One of the highest tides of the year has flooded the salt marsh around Jakes Island, a hill in China Camp State Park that, despite its name, is normally not an island.
Jake thought it was tea time. I don't think he minded the rain as much as I did. :) Taken at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.
Playing with camera settings to see if I can get these two in focus while they run. Sparky is the intense one with the bumper. Jake is the one with the flying ears...he is still a pup.
