One of the highest tides of the year has flooded the salt marsh around Jakes Island, a hill in China Camp State Park that, despite its name, is normally not an island.
Hi.
I'm Jake. I came to live with Anita and Dave in May, when my person couldn't cope with having me anymore.
I like to play with Chaco, but Moqui and I pretty much ignore each other.
I'm up at CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital because my new Mom figured out that I have multiple medical issues. They did surgery on a mast cell tumor and now I'm getting chemotherapy for it. I don't mind the chemo--it's actually nice to have some alone time with Mom, and I don't have any side-effects from it.
When that's finished I hear I have another operation coming up for a hypothyroid issue. Wow. I never had so much attention in my life.
Jake thought it was tea time. I don't think he minded the rain as much as I did. :) Taken at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.
Taos Ski Valley will be opening a new mountain bike trail from the top of chair 4 and back to the bottom. It'll be called the Green Chile Flow Trail. We got to get on it early to get some images to use for the opening day!
Playing with camera settings to see if I can get these two in focus while they run. Sparky is the intense one with the bumper. Jake is the one with the flying ears...he is still a pup.
Jake is a Border Collie, a breed developed for herding livestock, especially sheep. They are considered highly intelligent, energetic and often compete with great success in agility events.

Oldie but goldie. Some toys you never get bored with and Jake is one of them. He was my very first action figure and despite him coming from the basic line (read: cheap) I invariably consider him to be one of the best releases by Hot Toys ever.

Some might notice that I have deleted the last two images I had posted of Jake, with the Peeps. Evidently, I offended a couple of contacts, so I took them off my feed. I thought a long time about it, and nearly deleted my entire Flickr account.....and I may still do so.
This series of Jake has nothing to do with Halloween. It was something I thought about doing last year, but because of my injury, I never got a chance to carry on with it. The fact it is a skeleton is not a comment on what is happening in the World. If anyone thinks it is, then don’t follow me, because you obviously know nothing about me.
If I have other things to post, I will post them, but for the next couple of days, I’m gonna do some yoga with Jake.

Snowmaking at Angel Fire has been especially important this season as Mother Nature seems to have forgot to let it snow across the mountain west.
Jake just moved in a few days ago. He is very sweet, quiet and doesn't say a meow. He will, however, reach his paw through the bars to get a treat now, so he is learning how to communicate what he wants.
His neighbor, Earl, to the left (not pictured) has a good case of ear mites. I'm sure they'll address it. Earl is extremely vocal and meows for everything (treats, pets, etc...). It appears Earl has gone through a trap/neuter/release program or perhaps a portion of his ear was bitten off.
Our Flickr here is currently not displaying any activity today except for 7 various images from Richard Villancourt to James R. Page. I am at the moment required to search for photographers I know - took me a while to find Lola.
We often visit nearby Jarvis Creek Park on Hilton Head Island. The walking path is stroller-conducive and there is no shortage of creepy-crawlies to entertain us all!

I met Jake just over a year ago when I was working at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops and he was in one of the workshops. He was able to stop in San Francisco on his road trip across part of the country and we spent the day walking around talking photography and photographing San Francisco. Jake is an inspirational photographer - you know, one of those people you kind of want to hate because they are so young and so talented?
