Retexture of jacket..... not sure of the material and having a problem getting rid of the shine on it when in light...... but not bad lol
I was at a friends house talking to his daughter about her college course. We talked about school and how much better college was. We then talked about how horrible school uniforms were. She told me that when she finished school, she wanted to burn her books and uniform but her dad wouldn't let her, so she threw the lot over the back fence into the grounds of an old derelict mill.
Of course I had to have a look and nearly 2 years later it was still there!
What was even better was that I found a tightly tied up bin bag full of coats. The 3 coats I kept were her mother's long purple down coat and Zara parka and the daughter's Firetrap jacket. I remember seeing them wear the coats on many occasion. Then that one day (about half a year ago) when the coats were no longer hanging up in the hallway. I remember commenting at the time how tidier the hallway looked and being gutted when she said they had tidied up and threw a load of coats away. Luckily she had used a good quality bin bag and tied it up well, the coats didn't even need washing.
It's a blessing to be able to play with the lights in a studio space. You can accomplish more, and do it faster too. Still in the process of decorating (where do the tripods go? Where do the rolls of paper go?). But meanwhile, there's no reason not to be creative. I wanted to set up a hair light fot his shot, but it kind of turned to a 2nd key-light, as it accentuates his forehead quite a lot. I didn't mind it so I kept it like this..It's all a fluid process of gut-feeling and eyeballing the camera. No exact science, just see what works..
Strobist info: 3 speedlights
1 in Phottix Easy up Softbox w/grid as keylight, camera right and slightly above model, tilting down.
1 in white reflective umbrella camera left, tilted down to accentuate jeans/jacket
1 as a hair light (which turned out to be a 2nd keylight next to the softbox)
Edited the JPEG in IOS app and then uploaded the shrunken file to Flickr. Might someday upload a LR/PS edited version. For now, this'll have to do...

Hello,
I was today with the kids to swim. We always go to a small piece (20 minutes by car). So I just went through the villages, when I saw this man standing at a traffic light. I turn signals right and stopped. I then quickly back to Him and told Him that I would like to take a picture for my project. Then he asked me: "With a Canon?" I was quite taken aback, but answered: "Sorry I have not got my Leica dabei ..." (I have, of course) no Leica. Then he had to smile and pointed to his right jacket collar. There a "Leica button stuck. Finally, he agreed, although he did not believe that you can make good photos with a Canon.
I wish you a nice day
Regards
Markus
