Wikipedia: "Yellow jackets are social hunters living in colonies containing workers, queens, and males (drones). Colonies are annual with only inseminated queens overwintering. Fertilized queens are found in protected places such as hollow logs, in stumps, under bark, in leaf litter, in soil cavities, and man-made structures. Queens emerge during the warm days of late spring or early summer, select a nest site, and build a small paper nest in which they lay eggs. After eggs hatch from the 30 to 50 brood cells, the queen feeds the young larvae for about 18 to 20 days. Larvae pupate, then emerge later as small, infertile females called workers. Workers in the colony take over caring for the larvae, feeding them with chewed up meat, or fruit. By midsummer, the first adult workers emerge and assume the tasks of nest expansion, foraging for food, care of the queen and larvae, and colony defense."

Created with Elegance and Elephants pattern. Not a beginner's project and Rip stop nylon is not the best to work with, but the directions were easy to follow and I am incredibly pleased with the result. My daughter loves it too.

This sheep nappa jacket is a fun combination of fashion and folklore. The frilly cuff and crinkled front put together on this fashionable jacket drags history from ancient royal dressing to today's fashion world.

Wrap up in the Cup of Joy Hoody. A gray sweatshirt is punctuated with silver primroses, polka dots, and intricate detail. Floral pattern borders the hoody and extends down, bordering the zipper. Hem and cuffs are ribbed with a floral pattern detailing the cuffs. Two deep pockets adorn the front, polka dots scatter across the back. Hood has a drawstring with pom-pom tassels. A long sweatshirt, the Cup of Joy Hoody is one snuggable huggable. Small measures 30" down the center of the back. Sleeves measure 27" long. 94% cotton. 6% spandex. Imported.

From upper-left, clockwise: cuff, collar edge and camp button, and breast pocket. The jersey lining offers lovely softness and insulation!
Underlined and lined in jersey, with contrast Western-style cuffs and collar in wool. I used the blocks from the Negroni pattern by Colette. The pockets and cuff plackets are lined in a deep-orange broadcloth, and antique brass snaps and rivets finish the garment.
