One more shot of the spider! This one looks like he's straight out of a sci-fi movie! So glad he was just a little thing!

Yes, Virginia, there really is life outside Flickr. And so it is that I've had to hang it up for awhile. For now, (and until I can learn to better balance my time and other obligations) my Flickring is going to have to be kept to a minimum.
Wishing you all well, hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
"For most breeding birds, only one adult at a time sleeps on the nest, but all Bushtit family members sleep together in their large, hanging nest during the breeding season. Once the young fledge, they all leave the nest and thereafter sleep on branches." allabouboids
I needed something gratuitously cute this evening. And, maybe... so do you.
Image made with a Hasselblad 500 C/M.
"According to a study from 1907, bushtits in California had diets that consisted of 81% insect matter through most of the year, and which increased to 100% insect matter in the spring. This means that one bushtit eats over 3 pounds of insect matter every year- which is the equivalent of eating 908,000 ants! "wildfarmsweebly.com...BTW, I have never seen a Bushtit eat an ant. Or any bird eat an ant....
I hear that tiny Pffft-Ptffft call and the hunt is on. Click on the + dealie. I think I see a bit of a baby gape.
"The Bushtit (BUSH) is the smallest of the N. American titmouse family at 3-1/2 to 4" long. All males and newly hatched young have dark eyes while adult females have light cream-colored eyes."Eastside Audubon
I tried something new today. Usually I like to amp out the vibrancy and saturation on an image. Today I slid the bar the other direction
This is me, hanging out with my handsome and silly one-eyed cat named Itty Bitty.

We had a great day bird watching. Mostly watching because the 4 Kestrels soaring overhead playing tag were beyond my skills to capture. I got a few cute Bushtit photos and a bunch of bug bites.
Claudia..whose version is absolutely gorgeous (see comments.) J Bird picked these acorns from our tree yesterday and I was reminded of Claudia's recent pic. I needed my weekly texture photo, so here it is. :-)
Thanks Claudia! :-)

This composition is tiny little pendants. Each piece is a pendant that I bought at a local craft store. I had a lot of fun with this because this is probably the smallest thing I have shot to date.
Oh my gosh! Bei shrunk!!

My family has been growing these little onions for over 100 years. My great-great grandfather, "Little Rusty Grandaddy" always had them in his garden, and gave them to my grandfather and mother.

This is my first entry into the 14x14x6 Small Starfighters Contest.
Yay, NCS! Not too happy with the overall look of the fighter, but I think it turned out okay.

happy bokeh wednesday!
On the edited version I used MCP Colour Burst, and I used ittybitty actions new colour 1. Used ying yang "TRA" for highlights and shading. Added a slight black vignette and high pass sharpning:)
This is the tiniest flower I've ever seen, about 1/8" total across. I found it in a field out on a ranch near here. I have no idea what it is.

Recordings taken on September 3 & 4 and on September 12 show how quickly Mei Xiang's cub has grown. The Cub squawks loudly at the 1:40 mark and if you listen carefully, then you can hear an occasional bleat, chirp, or other soft vocalization from the Cub throughout this segment. Some repetitive or session-ended clips have been deleted.
NOTE: If this recording does not play, there is a lower quality version on my photostream. It may just be Flickr being temperamental.
