One more shot of the spider! This one looks like he's straight out of a sci-fi movie! So glad he was just a little thing!

Yes, Virginia, there really is life outside Flickr. And so it is that I've had to hang it up for awhile. For now, (and until I can learn to better balance my time and other obligations) my Flickring is going to have to be kept to a minimum.

Wishing you all well, hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.

"For most breeding birds, only one adult at a time sleeps on the nest, but all Bushtit family members sleep together in their large, hanging nest during the breeding season. Once the young fledge, they all leave the nest and thereafter sleep on branches." allabouboids

I needed something gratuitously cute this evening. And, maybe... so do you.

Image made with a Hasselblad 500 C/M.

I hear that tiny Pffft-Ptffft call and the hunt is on. Click on the + dealie. I think I see a bit of a baby gape.

I tried something new today. Usually I like to amp out the vibrancy and saturation on an image. Today I slid the bar the other direction

Claudia..whose version is absolutely gorgeous (see comments.) J Bird picked these acorns from our tree yesterday and I was reminded of Claudia's recent pic. I needed my weekly texture photo, so here it is. :-)

Thanks Claudia! :-)

"Bushtits need to eat 80% of their body weight each day to keep up with their speedy metabolisms when weather is warm- they eat even more when it cools down. According to a study from 1907, bushtits in California had diets that consisted of 81% insect matter through most of the year, and which increased to 100% insect matter in the spring. This means that one bushtit eats over 3 pounds of insect matter every year- which is the equivalent of eating 908,000 ants!" wildfarmsweebly

We had a great day bird watching. Mostly watching because the 4 Kestrels soaring overhead playing tag were beyond my skills to capture. I got a few cute Bushtit photos and a bunch of bug bites.

I'm sure I'm breaking some bench monday rules here. Bella wanted to get some bench time too.

I love the wee little wildflowers that I find unexpectedly, hiding in my lawn.

Hardest part of this whole build was making the motorcycle small enough

I'll tell you a story. A true story, for once.

On Wednesday, my Dad gave me this handgun -- it was actually a gun I used in my youth (never you mind that it's illegal for a minor to have a handgun, that's just the kind of farm we lived on -- plus, my father owned a gun store).

Here's one of the things he used to have me do with this gun:

I used to have to stand out by our barn (I have pics of this barn in my photostream), and I had the pistol loaded with these rare little scattershot pellet .22 bullets. Little blue BB's, like ittybitty beads, in the capsule bullets.

Standing there, my father had me shoot bees.

Yes, bees. Carpenter bees, actually.

They'd buzz around, coming in and out of their holes in the barn, and I'd pop them as they flew overhead.

That was one of my childhood tasks. To shoot bees.

I also had to wrangle elk. But that's a story for another time.

Redstem Filaree is a wide-spread, non-native wildflower that most consider a weed. It does have some pretty flowers and is one of the first to bloom in early spring - Hieroglyphic Mountains, Yavaipai County, Arizona

This composition is tiny little pendants. Each piece is a pendant that I bought at a local craft store. I had a lot of fun with this because this is probably the smallest thing I have shot to date.

Oh my gosh! Bei shrunk!!

(Could he look any more comfortable in his new big boy bed? Thank you, SNZ!)

My family has been growing these little onions for over 100 years. My great-great grandfather, "Little Rusty Grandaddy" always had them in his garden, and gave them to my grandfather and mother.

This is my first entry into the 14x14x6 Small Starfighters Contest.

Yay, NCS! Not too happy with the overall look of the fighter, but I think it turned out okay.

My home is called "High house" as it's at 4050 M , Trees are extending above the 4069 m roof of the sim. The King of the Trees exists here, more than 110m tall, I can't make it any taller, as it bumps that limit.

This is my last view as I close down for the night, and my first view as I wake up in the morning. Is this too big for a single small elf? as a laugh, all doors are reduced in size, a normal-giant human avatar in SL would have to duck all the time. The Itty bitty earth witch has a bit of a sense of humor.

On the edited version I used MCP Colour Burst, and I used ittybitty actions new colour 1. Used ying yang "TRA" for highlights and shading. Added a slight black vignette and high pass sharpning:)

This is the tiniest flower I've ever seen, about 1/8" total across. I found it in a field out on a ranch near here. I have no idea what it is.
