Yesterday we had a light dusting of snow in Chicago. Certainly not enough to shovel—or even build a snowman—so I thought.
Whenever it snows, my 23-month-old daughter Julia loves to say, “Snowman! Snowman come!” She loves snowmen. This April morning with a light dusting of snow on the ground, Julia exclaimed, “Snowman!” Even though we are way past the time of the year for snowmen to occur, she still has the excitement for Frosty appearing around the corner.
Around the corner, he did appear. As I’m walking down the Riverwalk, much to my surprise, a mini Frosty appeared sitting on a bench! Why, hello snowman! I snapped a couple photos to show to Julia. She will love it. I simply must share this delight of seeing Frosty actually appearing in April!
With Julia being as young as she is, we try to limit the amount of screentime she gets. I could show her the photo on my iPhone. However, once you show a 23-month-old one photo on an iPhone, they will want to see more on that magical glowscreen.
Instead of using my iPhone, I plan on printing out the photo and showing Julia the print.
Then the print will become a part of my new Daily Letter art project, where I write one fun letter every day to someone different. I’ll write the story of seeing the April snowman on the back of this print, and mail it to a friend who might appreciate the story.
I got this incredibly small tea set at a gift shop at Blackwater Falls State Park when I was a little girl. It has always been one of my dearest treasures, and I've always taken very good care of it.
As you can see by the presence of the dime, it's very small. All the pieces fit into the apple, the lid comes off. It's very special, I think! Note the little flowers painted on the teacups!
It has no marks except for a sticker which reads:

Made in Taiwan
It is very dear to me for such a silly little object. I think the wood might be bamboo. It probably dates from 1983-1985.
Although I may be a few hours early, I hope you have you wonderful day. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend!

A good friend lent me a macro lens. You can't forget to document how ittybitty small and gorgeous those little things are. These little buttons of joy are only 12 weeks old.

Made to complete a set of three. This is Yubi and Remy, who are cagemates to Scoodles, who I made a while back.
I made a few of these guys. Owls are pretty cute little critters. I like using jewels for eyes lately. They're so sparkly and pretty...
Close ups of two of the six horses in the game piece set. These were made on commission for a board game. They are just 1 inch long!
I took this shot of this Roseate Spoonbill last weekend while birding in Merritt Island. I did a few tweaks and added a texture by Lenabem-Anna.
