I'm very lucky to have wonderful friends that show me much love ... I hope I show my appreciation in return.

Thank you all. ox

Bunnita and I were happy to get a funny Easter card in the mail today from my faboo grrl Kat!

Perfect timing - I needed the giggle for today! And yes, never take candy from strangers. ;p

Thank you my dear! ox

It's nice to see a bit more snow on the ground here in Toronto for January ... it is supposed to be like this ya know!

But I'm also glad that I have a roof over my head in times like these. Right now it's -15C and with the windchill it is -21C. BRRRRR!

Stay warm folks and bundle up if you need to go out.

And super darned adorable too!

I went to Trinity Bellwoods Park to check out their Canada Day festivities and they were having a poochie contest - best costume, cutest canine, best trick ... Bear here got a prize for his patriotic homemade cape.

A lovely Spring day, blue skies and communing with nature and other photo walkers - what more could you want?

A good friend contacted me today and apologized for not being able to get together with me to celebrate my birthday. He then told me today that the doctor's results came back and his father has been diagnosed with cancer.

I was so upset .... mainly because I knew he and his family were waiting for the results and I was hoping for the best and it wasn't as hoped. And partly because he felt he had to apologize at all. I told him not to worry and we can celebrate in July if we have to.

Please help me send some love and healing vibes to his father and the family. And please, all of you, do NOT take your health for granted. Take care of yourselves ... you're precious. oxo

Our Daily Challenge ... it's the little things.

Yesterday I looked after Lachie for a couple of hours. He likes to pick flowers for his Mum and me. He said he was going to get some pink flowers ... pink is his favourite colour and despite being told by all the boys that it's a "girls" colour he has stuck to it for the whole year. We went out into the garden and I was telling him the names of the flowers. When his Mum came to pick him up she brought his little friend. He took him out into the garden and very confidently told him about the pink daisies. It made my day!

I stepped out briefly from my cold fighting hibernation for groceries this afternoon and came across this beauty that made me smile.

I've never tried this "spackle" before ... not sure if it's a good idea to start trying it now! :p

Because you are all unique and wonderful people my dear Flickr friends! ox

I seem to be managing so far with keeping up with sketching and even have an idea for the next picture. And yes, I like swirls and tendrilly bits.

We all could use more of both of these on a regular basis. And a special door that leads to a

secret garden ...

And speaking of Sunshine, I had a lovely afternoon hanging out with my grrl Becky!

It was rainy and grey when I headed out but the afternoon with her turned sunny and cheery. :)

Thank you for a great time my dear! ox

And he did! A nice little Vaudeville sounding ditty that was fun and cheery! Thankfully there was a lull in the construction racket in the background so I could hear him. :)

There was another one I saw yesterday at King and Bay but I couldn't get a clear shot of it from the streetcar.

Last night's Little Thing shot ... interesting find considering that it's Grey Cup weekend here in Toronto. It's the Toronto Argonauts battling for the Cup against the Calgary Stampeders . I'm not a professional sports fan but ....

ARRRRRGOOOOOOOOOOS!!

Always a wonderful pleasure! Good to see you today my dear! oxo

Nice to see folks doing something besides shopping on Boxing Day.

I joke that I'm a bad Canadian since I am a terrible skater. I never really learned as a child and I'm pretty wobbly out there on them when I do go.

We found this young fella just hanging out here while on our photo walk today. He and Dirk became fast friends and I brought him along for the rest of the walk.

Always nice to make new friends. :)

I'm not a rose kind of gal at all. Give me a nice bouquet of daisies or wildflowers over them any day. Picked up myself a nice bundle of orangey prettiness on my way home from getting groceries today. The vintage kitschy vase was my mother's.

Found in Marg's 'hood - they have interesting garden decor there.

... expectation of giving & receiving

Love is not giving everything you have to another

It is about accepting the free flowingness of generosity & healthy self-containment without fear, without overgrowth of neither exceedingly good one exceedingly bad exertion of energy.

It is embracing your emotional core and seeing it as a gift of yourself, something to understand and nuture.

Another's love cannot control you & nor yours, them.

I survived my forth game of soccer today. I was pretty damned tired and wasn't feeling all that great when I walked over to the park but I got moving slowly and started to feel better. Hooray! I also scored two goals tonight ... yippee!! I still have quite the learning curve to work on but I'm definitely having fun. Anyone know where to find pink soccer socks?? ;p

Just please be here and spend some time with me.

Had a lovely day with friends today. Dim sum, a wander through Kensington Market for Pedestrian Sunday and then off to a vintage bicycle show in Trinity Bellwoods with my grrl Sally. And then a nice peach and strawberry ice pop from the Trinity Tack Shop. Yum yum!

Thank you all for a nice day. :)
