It's too late to apologize, it's too late I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late I said it's too late to apologize...

It rained - a lot. At least for Portland. It rained fairly hard all day, only letting up late in the day. I risked my camera to get some shots of these water-resistant birds continuing their activities.

it is said, in our family lore, that we are descended from citizens of every country that claims stubbornness as a trait ~grin~.. but oddly enough, given my name, not switzerland

The bottom of my swiming pool before cleaning with mud, frogs and mosquitoes...

It was a foggy morning on Ranmore Common. Spring had just begun but it looks like mid Winter.

It’s a long way from Europe to South Africa!

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

It has been quite hot and humid again this afternoon which didn't stop Cleo from going outside whereas Tofu and Sethi both preferred to stay indoors. She has always liked summer and warm weather although this summer almost is too much even for Cleo. There is hope for the next few days, though, as they may be slightly cooler.

It is also called "Grand Canyon of Switzerland".

Found in Funchal, Madeira. Only one house like this in a busy and perfectly non-derelict street. I wondered about it as the foreground looks like scary paving stones. What was the purpose of the building?

It's been raining so often the last few weeks, farmers have to rush to get the harvest in.

It has been the first nest on that roof... No good choice, it's very steep.

It's time to decoration again for the holidays..

I hate being followed up hill. You'll find I stop regularly, apparently to admire the view behind me, whilst trying to steady my heartbeat and catch my breath: trying to make it look like I'm just taking it all in my stride. And so it was, the woman in blue far below us, caught us and overtook us as we ambled back along the top of the Roaches, hurried slightly by the approaching cloud and rain blowing in over Tittesworth. But it's normally an interesting walk, nice on a sunny day after a fresh snow fall

It was a surprising sight to come across these youngsters relaxing in the woodland!

This weekend is Rooster Days in Broken Arrow. I thought this rooster weather vane would be a great way to do the Flickr Friday Top theme and Rooster Days!

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble

When you're perfect in every way

I can't wait to look in the mirror

Cause I get better looking each day

To know me is to love me

I must be a hell of a man

Oh Lord It's hard to be humble,

But I'm doing the best that I can

This is another from Saturday's visit to the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge. This was just following the shot I showed a few days ago.

So, has he completely lost it? No, not the driver, me. Well, who refers to oneself in the third person? That may be one indication of losing it. Actually, no to that as well. Now that I have proven to myself that I am capable of using HDR responsibly, I thought I may as well give into the temptation that devil software is throwing at me and apply this process in a manner that results in something completely different. I always wanted to do a minimalist color image without completely giving up on color because I am addicted to it. Quite like the effect “contrast optimizer” has on the bucket loader. That’s why I cropped top and bottom to feature the loader a bit more prominently. The reason the sides are uncropped is because I liked the effect on the fence to the right of the loader and on the faux brick wall to the left of the loader. And no, not to worry, you won’t see too many of these shots going forward. No sense in getting carried away. Less is usually more unless we are dealing with Marzipan which is powerful enough to make me .…
