It's a native grass species found throughout the East Coast of the U.S. in lightly grazed pastures and fields. I found these after sunset near the French Broad River in Asheville, North Carolina.

ALTHOUGH it is rather nondescript the corn bunting does have a distinctive song. It dangles it legs when flying short distances, and just look at its nails, they are very approachable with extreme care, I love seeing them at the Ancient Highway Sandwich Kent.

It was pretty first thing, but the snow is disappearing again, and is very wet, so not really good enough for photos...
it is potentially the best medium for explaining man to himself and to his fellow man :-)

Happy Sunday. Hope everyone in the Northeast is doing alright with that nasty weather. I saw a few pictures posted on Flickr. It looks really ugly
..it was Saturday, about 7am, i'd been on the streets since 3am ...and I found myself on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, the day was just breaking and two young guys passed by ... on their way home from a Friday night out .. they stopped for a chat, they were friendly, knowledgable around the camera and genuinely interested in what I was doing.

It's not often that I see the secretive Sora in the open.
It took nearly half an hour of waiting and hunkering down to finally get some shots of this individual. But as you can see...worth it!

It was nice running across this chatty fellow - - a Carolina Wren
I followed it along the trail for a few minutes waiting for a better pose - - I got a series of bursts in about 6 different positions - - this is one of the better ones in my opinion.
