Contest -- Architecture in an Urban Landscape Environment
A western meadowlark belts out a tune. One of many musical events heard daily at the San Louis National Wildlife Refuge.
It's dark in here; can't see the sky
But I look at this blue wing and I close my eyes
And I fly away beyond these walls
Up above the clouds where the rain don't fall
On a poor man's dream
Device : yashica 38mm
I waited patiently (10-15 minutes) for the Great Egret to walk / jump / fly onto the back of the American Alligator, but it didn’t happen. Would have made a great picture. Wildlife photography does teach patience. Riverstone Wetlands, Sugar Land, Texas.
Yet it is doubtful whether most people realize how extraordinarily slippery a liar the camera is :-)

It was such a long distance.
I only had my 300mm with me.
But I like it.
Not only the picture , but so nice to see this young couple.
It is always a cause for joy to see ships come and go safely into and from the harbor and so it was recently with "Rotterdam" paying a short visit to St.John's, NL, Canada.
Macro Mondays theme for 24/07/17: "Three"
As usual can't make my mind up so this is 1 of 2 possibilities!
Decision made...
While there was a late temptation to post a picture of 3 inches I thought I'd behave and use this one, which is probably obvious if you're viewing it in the group!

It is a genus of more than 1,000 species of flowering plants, widely distributed throughout the Northern Hemisphere and the tropics. Impatiens make up the family Balsaminaceae. Common names in North America include impatiens, jewelweed, touch-me-not, snapweed and patience. Most Impatiens species are annual or perennial herbs with succulent stems. Only a few woody species exist. Plant size varies dependent of the species from five centimetres to 2.5 meters. North American impatiens have been used as herbal remedies for the treatment of bee stings, insect bites, and stinging nettle rashes. 21438

Gilels in response to Richter said, Lazar Bergman is the best pianist amongst the three of them. Whether he really meant it is off the point, the point is this pianist is of the same league with them :
