This took about four years. Haha.

Not really.

But it was really frustrating.

And I gave up about four times.

One of my most favorite lyrics.

It was a colorful sky as the sun was setting on the West end of Navarre Beach Florida over the bay.

The Victorian Iron Horse Roundup at the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, August 26, 2021. Several different trains were run this day. C&TS Train 215 was led by K-36 489 out of Antonito. Eureka and Glenbrook puled the historic consist on a round-trip excursion from Antonito to Osier. No. 487 brought train 216 over from Chama; it and 489 met at Osier and performed some switching moves during the lunch stop, with 489 returning to Antonito with train 216 and 487 heading back to Chama with 215. After the regular trains departed, the woodburners were fueled and watered at Osier before heading back to Antonito. A late afternoon storm soaked the Conejos Valley; the sun peeked through the clouds just before sunset, creating some fantastic storm light images in Antonito shortly after Osier Turn with Eureka and Glenbrook pulled into the station.

Made for Macro Mondays theme: "It's alive"

It's easy to get too close.

I was searching for pictures because I haven't had time to do much self portraits lately and I stumbled across this one of my neice Lucy.

I think I was slightly tipsy when I took this one but when I went to process it I was totally shocked when I zoomed in to her eye! I've left it large to see if anyone else can spot it!!!!!

This actually didn't need much processing at all!!

It just shows how they get through anything, even a thick fleece!

It is always nice to travel around the harbour by ferry even if it does get a bit windy. Thank heavens for 'super glue'.

"It’s so unfair how every little thing reminds me of you. The green shirt I saw someone wearing yesterday, I know how you love green, that it’s your favorite color but you’d never wear it. I always found that weird about you. Or today when I went for my morning jog, I came across an orange cat. I know what you’re thinking, an orange cat? How could that possibly remind you of me? Well it had this spot, this spot where it had no fur. Like that spot on your leg where you have no hair. It made me laugh, such a terrible giggle. I never thought I could miss someone so much. It’s beginning to get to me. I honestly thought I could cope, that I was a stronger person than this. But I think I've overlooked a few things about myself."

It really was a time to reflect from Burghead beach with stunning colours reflecting in the small pools of water left from the tide going out.

I would like to thank everyone who take the time to view and comment on my photographs it is greatly appreciated and encouraging

It only took waiting three hours for the weather to cooperate, and it finally pulled through in the nick of time.

Sugar Express’ “Sugar Eggspress” final run would be the 4 PM train out of Clewiston, departing on-time with a moderately full train. Following a successful catch at the Sugarland Canal trestle, a hectic 4.1 mile drive would ensue, driving along unmarked dirt roads through private cane fields, dodging loose rocks and an unexpected closed gate [a story me and Richard will tell until the end of time].

I would arrive to the spot at Liberty Point with no less than 3 minutes to spare, the 148’s CB&Q 5 chime audible from about a mile away. With the train clear of the Shawnee cane loadout to the south, the engineer opens up the throttle through the Liberty Point curve to continue their run to Moore Haven at track speed, 40 MPH. A gap between clouds finally allowed the sun to shine down on the Class 141 Pacific as it sweeped around the curve headed west.

It was really hard to find some information about this structure and the only things I found were in German so please believe me if I tell you that it's a former bridge towards a ferry that was once quite busy with a train going towards it so people could easily move from train to ferry across the North Sea. The things you can see here were built in 1909 and the bridge had a length of 133 m in total, consisting of three parts each 33 m long and one 30 m long part.

Heavy ice drift during winter 1946/47 destroyed the bridge, it was rebuilt in 1952 but it was destroyed again due to heavy ice drift in winter 1956.

It was getting a little warm on my day out, so needed a cooler top for the early afternoon, also my flat shoes had given me a very sore blister on my left foot! So I changed into these , more comfortable heels.

For the eagle eyed amongst you, there are other changes too!

In a damp dark place, the concrete foundation of the Banning Number 1 coal processing plant, abandoned since 1956. The white-looking "icicles" are the leaching of lime compounds in the old concrete. It results in the formation of either calcium carbonate or calcium sulphate. This phenomenon is called efflorescence.

I remember a time when a friend of the family pulled into our driveway in one of these. Long time ago it seems, but I have always loved this car.
