At first I thought it was some exotic flower blooming in the honeysuckle, but realized it was a tiny bird, and not a real one! Someone had made it...Normally I wouldn't like false wildlife in the woods but this tiny one seemed to fit in
It was a lovely day for a bath apparently as this cormorant repeatedly worked up a lather in the lake with a great deal of splashing of wings and water. HFF!
The adult Little Black Cormorant has strikingly green-blue or turquoise-blue eyes, one of which can be seen here.
Jonathan and I went here yesterday in the hope of some snow left and there was...unfortunately we got delayed in heavy traffic and it was almost dark but the dogs had fun.
This is another case for old photos'. This exact shot is no longer possible because over the last 14 years the trees and hedges have grown and the winding house to the old Bestwood Pit can't be seen :(
It's lovely to see life and colours return to the gardens and parks. Among the first flowers are always the pretty spring squills (Scillas) which dot the meadows along with crocus flowers and daisies. They are flowering in my garden too at the moment but this is a photo I took at the park Bluehendes Barock at Ludwigsburg.
It's a crappy noisy background, and I'll edit the noise out as soon as I buy photoshop. This is how it'll be for now.

“Yes, that ’s it,” said the Hatter with a sigh : “it ’s always tea-time, and we ’ve no time to wash the things between whiles.” From: 'Alice's adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll
Forty-five degrees - melting snow - and a dry highway as Doc and I drove into Glennallen this morning. It feels and looks more like spring than winter - but we are truly grateful for the break. Next week the temperatures will drop down to single digits, and snow is predicted - until then we are enjoying our "spring break".
I took this photo of little Moose Creek this morning - notice that it is still open and running - that is quite unusual for this time of year. This is the same little creek that managed to flood everything in its path all the way to Glennallen during spring break up this year.
(Moose Creek heads in Twin Lakes and flows southeast through Glennallen, to Tazlina River, Copper River Basin (USGS).
I stopped by the agricultural supply store for alpaca feed today, and was happy to find Momo hanging out on the front counter. She'd been elusive in the past, but today was her time to shine. She enjoyed some good pats, and rubbed her cheek on a display box.

Sorry, my Nikon friends! I had to!
It's harvest time.
I took some pictures playing with my camera settings, trying to reproduce the rendering of the Kodachrome 64.
Not easy but I like the vintage look, no post process, they are SOOC.
It was freezing cold, but so beautiful!

The Viaducts, Castlefield, Manchester
A trip into Manchester last Friday to meetup with Eddie Coulson. No particular plan in mind other than a catchup and to take a few snaps. There’s a new entertainment complex being built on the site of the old Coronation St set within the Granada Studios complex, which now resides at Salford Quays. This new entertainment venue is due to open June 2023 so I thought we could wander down there and see how its progressing. Unfortunately, you can’t get anywhere near the site, let alone take pictures – that will have to wait until June now.
It's only a short walk to Castlefield so we ventured there. It’s been a few years since I last visited and I’m sorry to say the place looks awful now. Yes, there was graffiti then, but now it’s everywhere… the place looks like a sh**hole and to say that this was Britain’s first Urban Heritage Park.
On their way back to Minneapolis, a small group gathers in Cologne to see the 261 on this pleasant autumn afternoon.
Une variante d'une image déjà postée, traitée avec l'application Prisma (effet "Wave").
Cela lui donne un côté "plein hiver, avec bourrasque de neige".

"Izzy warned me that Mum was testing her new glasses. She seems to be OK when she's sitting down, or leaning against the garden table, now all she needs to do, is get out for a walk and see how she does then.
"Sadly, she's still having a bit of a problem reading comments on the laptop screen, but solved that, for the moment, by increasing the font size. Which she says is a bit of a pain, poor Mum."
Maybe view large, and thank you for your favourites. :)
