Enjoy your Wednesday ;-))

On a sunny winter morning, the river is still in shadow, while the mountains already shining in the sun.

....in the woods.

It has taken some time to get to grips with the intricacies of night time photography. The next task is to create a more natural environmental setting.

EN - Here we see a train of car transporters headed for the FCA plant in Piedimonte, immortalized in the Parck of aqueducts in the southern part of Rome

Sun rising above tree line in Upstate South Carolina (near the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains). This is similar to a previous capture I uploaded but this one is tighter, earlier, and at a slightly different angle.

It reminded me a little bit of a Spanish dress!

* It only took about 15 minutes to drive from Plockton to the village of Kyle of Lochalsh . This is where the relatively new bridge to the Isle of Skye is situated . It then takes about two hours to reach the most northerly township of Kilmaluag on the Trotternish Peninsula. This image was taken at a lay by just north Of Digg a very attractive spot to have a sandwich and stretch the legs

The isle of Skye is very beautiful its coastline varied and dramatic . The Cullin mountains in particular are a wonderful sight. Sadly though Skye was very busy, the only part of out trip were this was the case . We were hoping to get a close look Old Man of Storr and take a walk in The Quiraing. In both cases the car parks were absolutely rammed and it was impossible to park up. The drive up to the carpark for the The Quiraing was particularly tiresome. It was a steep climb up a twisty single track road for about six miles. I was clear half way up that the car park would be full but it was impossible to turn round. . We had to drive all the way to the top before driving round the full car park and the descending down the same dammed road . Given it was mid week in late September I had not expected Skye to be so busy. It must be crazy there in the main holiday season

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO

I can hardly believe that I really found the one of our wild orchids that is the most spectacular one to me. It's a bee orchid (Ophrys apifera), so named because its flowers imitate the appearance of bees or bumblebees. It's quite rare north of the Alps and I'm absolutely in love!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody :-)

It's been quite a while since this was closed for upgrade work. Looks like it's nearly finished and the Parks guys have done an impressive job. Note - it's NOT open yet.

Back in the mountains and appreciating my feathered friends!

It was minus 3 when we went out this morning for a walk. It was quite a quick one but at least we got out of the house. That's frost on the ground

It wasn't the best time to photograph the moon since it was almost as far away as it can get from the Earth when full this year. Never heard the term before but I discovered it is called a Micro Moon. Looking forward to the November Super Moon.

Thanks for viewing!

It is easy to understand how they came up with the name. Paradise, Mount Ranier National Park.

A dear Flickr friend from Germany told me to bring in a clipping of my flowering cherry tree on St. Barbara's Day.... 12/17.... I did and today, on my mother's birthday in Heaven, 1/23, I finally see a bloom opening!!

Thank you, dear Andi...

Another shot of ice crystal patterns. Looks like I don't have to worry about the canvas melting any time soon...forecaster says maybe another ten days of -20c morning lows.

It's funny when you see a photo posted by a fellow photographer of a place they recently visited and it immediately reminds you of a time when you visited it with your camera.

In this case the photographer is Phil Norton and I shall post his image below in the comment boxes. He's a Nisi Ambassador so if anyone requires any information on filters, he's a great guy to ask.

The place is the little fishing tarn of Llyn Y Dywarchen in Snowdonia. The date was Saturday 5th August 2011, the time 10pm. I visited this wonderful little place and decided that the rowing boats needed some illumination, so out came the head torch and fifteen seconds later, voilà

I hope you all like it. Have a great day guys and girls.
