A seat overlooking the bay.

It would be a lovely place to sit and read, at least during the summer. I decided a photograph was called for. Unfortunately, the shutter was misbehaving and stayed open until I released the lever. It was a rather dark negative. I'm impressed that the photograph is a sharp as it is. Oh, well. I made sure the shutter was behaving before venturing out with the Holga again.

I needed to take a walk and I needed to finish the roll of film so I could develop and scan it. I walked north along Peart Avenue then down toward the lake and bay.

A couple weeks ago I took the Holga 120PC for a walk down Point Pleasant road to the Irondequoit Bay. I turned right to follow Schnackel Road down around Ides Cove.

Irondequoit Bay overlook with Polaroid PolaPan 125 slide film.

A while back, @timebombtimmy (dA) / @eighty4grain (IG) gave me some long-expired Polaroid PolaPan instant black and white slide film to shoot for a commemorative project he is working on. I shot this roll in a variety of places last summer.

Tim developed the roll and sent me back the slide. It seems the chemicals had dried out somewhat, leaving assorted interesting artifacts on the slides.

Winter snow and ice cover a popular Lake Ontario Beach, located in a small park next to the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge.

This Grebe is sitting up with the neck stretched bit so the colors are more obvious than the one I posted a while back. There have been several of them in the inlet this year.

This place, which used to be an art store where lessons were given, has always fascinated me.

It hasn't been occupied in over a decade, but the artist's touch remains.

It's up by Lake Ontario. The door looks like something out of "Alice In Wonderland", don't you think?

Sunrise along Irondequoit Bay. Can't tell it is late October in upstate NY by how the temperature and sunshine has been!

This Mute Swan apparently is accustomed to people leaving food for the waterfowl. As soon as I drove up, it came swimming right up to where I was sitting in my car. It acted disappointed that I didn't make a contribution (sad because they become dependent on people). It did give me several opportunities for nice reflection shots.

Believe it or not, this is the same swan that was pictured going after the goose a while back. He is both a beast and a beauty. I went down to photograph some ducklings and he was strutting his stuff.

Mom and Dad were protecting their young between them as they paused in the water. These goslings were relaxed as they felt safe beside one of the adults. I just had to post one more shot of little ones. I am in hopes of finding ducks or swans with their young soon....I have my thinking cap on and my camera ready. ;-)

There is a considerable difference between the protected channel and the open lake.

A few days before Labor Day I walked down to the Irondequoit Bay outlet and out to the end of the west breakwater pier. We had high clouds and bright sun. I was in the mood for taking pictures.

We're Here! Bridging the Gap.

The Outlet Bridge spans the channel that connects the Irondequoit Bay with Lake Ontario. In the summer, the bridge is moved to open the channel to boat traffic and commuters have to use a different route to get around the bay.

The path between the bluff and the bay.

At the end of Schnackel Road a path turns to meander between the base of the bluff and the houses along the bay, which are otherwise accessible only by water. The path ends just past the distant houses. Anything beyond there needs to be accessed from the other direction.

we're here shooting wide. I drive by this spot every day and stop often to take pictures and/or feed the waterfowl. Tonight's sky seemed ideal for today's "wide" shot.

Not the best quality shot but a fun one anyway. I love watching ducks take off when they are on water.

I stopped at Irondequoit Bay yesterday looking to photograph wildlife. I found several guys with bikes racing around on the frozen bay. While photographing the guys on two wheels, This guy made an appearance to show the two wheelers how it is done.
