My poor iris was quite sad in the rain. Then I cut him(it), put in a vase, then I installed(settled) the set(group) in front of a grey bottom. I put my device on a foot. I made a manual regulation of the depth of field. And I pulled(fired) 19 clichés(pictures) in 19 places different from the flower. Then, in Photoshop I merged the set(group) so that the neatness is homogeneous. And here is...

I must admit that I haven't been too happy with the sky conditions in my area lately and Thur and Fri were both over 90 degrees. That's the type of stuff that will keep me around the house, luckily our yard has lots of flowers now. I went out and shot an iris this morning in the rain. We have a bunch of different colors but I liked this one best.
Species from eastern North America
Common name: Dwarf Crested Iris
Photographed in Rock Creek Natural Area, Sharp County, Arkansas
Iris is spunky hacker who loves using her custom multi-function prosthetic to cause chaos for the crime syndicates and corrupt law enforcement in the Layered City.
Iris prefers to use her hacking and programming skills to support Ode's team from the background. Iris has spent months implanting malware in the Layered City's computer system, and she uses the holo-computer built into her arm to exercise near absolute control over the city's many automated functions.
When she is forced to engage in combat, Iris has an emergency set of Phase-Tech claws and a Plasma beam emitter built into her arm.
Iris fills an invaluable role on Ode's team, and her upbeat attitude and general positivity keep her team's spirit high. While she appears to support Ode's goal of ridding the Layered City of corruption, it is unclear if she has an ulterior motive. She is incredibly secretive about her past and how she became such a proficient hacker without detection.
Build Notes:
This one was an adventure. The concept for "Hacker Girl" started with the mechanical arm with the computer built in. The colors and hair for her changed a bunch when I was working on her (RIP purple shoes). A lot of the decisions of the appearance of this character were made based on parts limitations (the crop top for example was because I ran out of black curved slopes half way through building the shirt). The end result is really flexible and can hold lots of dynamic poses. As always, face and some of the hair design by Eero Okkonen. I promise I'll quit ripping off his stuff eventually.
From my archives - this was taken outdoors on a sunny day. The black background is produced by shooting into the shadow while the flower is brightly illuminated. A fun trick that works especially well with iris.

I am DISTROUGHT Spent hours getting hundreds of photos this day So many beautiful Irises of which I had saved a a few for flickr. I needed a new DVD drive and left my pc clinic for new dvd drive and guess what this original folder and lots more folders have been deleted by them unrequested action. Need less to say I have requested they recover all folders deleted on that day. Say a prayer Will know on Saturday coming.
This variety put out a few blooms this year. In all, only 5 of my 25 varieties bloomed, so I was happy to see this.
Well folks, this little note is not to stir-up any drama but just in case you start to wonder why I haven’t been on flickr: I am going under the knife tomorrow. Looks like the doctor found something he didn’t like and he thought it was best we take care of it ASAP. Don’t know when I’ll be back as there may be some treatment required afterwards. Kind of new territory for me. Wish me luck and I’ll be back before you know it. =)
