I was surprised to see water in the creek. We had an atmospheric river the previous week, and there was snow on the hills.
The creek bed was challenging to photograph; it was overgrown and muddy. I had to do some work post-processing to make it stand out even a little.
Capacity 26 oz. This gorgeous #vintage bottle was hand-blown in Czechoslovakia in the 1800s (its maker mark is stamped on the bottom of the #antique bottle). This thick and heavy blue glass #bottle is etched with a great logo of the long-gone Zion Bottle Works of Far Rockaway, Queens. Far Rockaway is a thin sliver of land jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean and began being settled by Jews in the second-half of the 1800s and is sometimes referred to as "Torah by the Sea". We were lucky enough to find this #seltzer bottle on the Lower East Side and now proudly display it alongside our vintage camera collection. Randazzo's Clam Bar in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn has been in business since 1916. It began as a family #fish market and Helen Randazzo later opened the restaurant section serving fried #clams, #Calamari, #shrimp, #lobster and mussels. Helen created their famous and top-secret marinara sauce in 1960. It is still served today in 2 varieties, either spicy hot or medium over clams, calamari, shrimp and other #seafood dishes. This store opened during what is known as the "Great Migration," the movement of 6 million African-Americans out of the rural Southern United States to the urban Northeast between 1910 and 1970. Nathan's Famous was opened in 1916 by Nathan Handwerker, a Jewish immigrant from Poland. He and his wife Ida opened the #hotdog stand with $300 borrowed from their friends, the entertainers Jimmy Durante and Eddie Cantor. Nathan's became popular in #coneyisland due to its low prices, attention grabbing #signage and attractive location near the beach and amusement parks. This amazing #neonsign was installed around 1960 and was made by the Salzman Sign co. The first Arby's opened in 1964 in Boardman, Ohio and featured a Conestoga wagon-style building and a #sign similar to this one. Although we are not sure what date this one was installed we imagine it was in the 1960s. I hiked up Mt. Pisgah at Lake Willoughby for the first time Monday. It is quite the trek up and such a gorgeous view from the summit. I took my drone up and took an 8 panel panorama of the 4.971 mile long lake. I feel like most photos of the lake are taken from either the north or south ends, which honestly I think the Willoughby gap is more photogenic than this panorama. I hope to come back to photograph those vantage points.

Lexington Candy Shop @lexingtoncandyshop on the Upper East Side has been in business since 1925. It is the oldest continuously operating luncheonette in Manhattan and is currently owned by third-generation family members. We love this #vintage #neonsign with #script lettering, which the third-generation owner John Philis told us, "this kind of overhanging sign is grandfathered in. The city no longer gives permits for them anymore.
