Listening to podcasts and watching new videos on the iPod at home (this also happens in the car but didn't get a chance to take a photo)

This is what you see before you connect the iPod Touch to a Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.10 and the latest iTunes. (It doesn't function if you're not at 10.4.10 and the latest iTunes.)

Video footage on 5G video ipod with new iPod Touch firmware, the counters are slightly pixelated, though only show when called by pressing the middle button.

My new ipod touch fully jailbroken and summerboard instl.

So I jailbroke the ipod.. it's great! Wish apple wouldn't void the warranty for a software modification but who cares if there is ever a problem restore the ipod before you send it in!

What's that mysterious clear plastic thing in the upper left corner below the white bezel? We eventually realized that it's a minimalist *stand* for the device (as srburling notes), although it leaves no room for cables when the iPod Touch is positioned vertically.
