This is an iPod 6th generation that is about 1:1 scale. It's a little bigger than lifesized, but that's fine. NO, it does not function!!!

A friend just told me this: Turns out the MP3s on your iPod are completely accessible, even without any dedicated software. They're simply in hidden folders. Writable hidden folders.

Now that Summerboard has gone Alpha for iTouch, I can really begin to customize my touch. Here is the Time Machine Theme for Summerboard, with some extra icons thrown in (notice the handsome guy in the contacts icon).

My iPod was in my pocket and it seems it bent a bit when I was practicing parkour today and I slipped and fell on a patch of grass. It's otherwise still feels and works the same, except I feel a small uneven bump when I hold it sometimes.

Next time I'll remember to empty my pockets before training!

(I wonder if the geniuses can help me restore this…)

Guest Video: The iPod Flea Ad Spoof

This week, David Pogue has arranged for a special guest video artist: Scott Kelby, Photoshop maven. Last week, as he keynoted his own Mac Design conference, he played a hilarious Apple ad spoof for something called the iPod Flea, which I'm pleased to offer in its Web debut.

My iPod nano was left in a jacket pocket and sent through the wash. After air drying for a few days, the screen was shot. I was able to manually replace the screen for the mere price of $6.99. Now the little trooper is back up and running!
