Snake Dog IPA is a 7,1% abv India Pale Ale from Maryland based Flying Dog Brewery. It's a smooth and rich IPA, where the strong hops flavor is balanced by a rich malt content. A yummy beer!

The pour was a hazy medium amber orange with an average (1-2 finger) white sudsy head that slowly receded, down to a medium film and large collar with excellent sticky lacing.

The aroma was of grain malts, floral and pine hops and a soapy yeast with notes of caramel and citrus (grapefruit and orange).

The taste was a bit malty with a hint of caramel and a mild citrus sweetness early on, progressing with a nice bitter piney hop taste, a bit of grapefruit with a mildly bitter floral ending. The flavor lasted an average time following the swallow, with a hoppy citrus taste left behind to linger on the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was light in body with a dry yet somewhat creamy texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall this is a very simple IPA, a dose of hops, caramel and a touch of citrus. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to go. Simply delicious...
