Breakaway IPA is made with Vienna and Munich malts to give this beer its malty flavor blended with a generous amount of Amarillo and Simcoe hops, which give this beer its signature citrusy character. The starting gravity is about 15 degrees plato (S.G. 1068), which means that the alcohol by volume is about 7%.

India Pale Ales were designed to withstand the long voyage to India. Today, it seems one has to design the IPA strong and hoppy enough to make the trip back as well. Vortex IPA is Fort George’s contribution to the IPA arms race. With generous additions of Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial hops throughout the brewing, fermentation and conditioning phases, balanced with heaps of organic pale malt, we designed this to not rip the taste buds off your tongue, but rather vigorously stimulate them and your palate into a lupulin-ecstacy of pleasure. During the cross-country truck trip our brewery made to find its home in Astoria it was nearly scattered to the cornfields of Nebraska by a tornado. We try to capture some of nature’s intensity in every pint.
Pours a yellowish amber gold with a dense fluffy 1/4 inch head. The body is clear with visible active carbonation. Bready European dry malts, bready yeast and a small scent of honey, mildly bitter hops.
Overall: Tastes like a Kolsch-style or even a pilsner, definitely not an IPA, and definitely not a California IPA that is marked with 7.2% abv.
If you like malt liquor, you'll like this stuff. If you like IPA, you'll probably have the same gag reflex I had when I took my first (second, third, fourth... and then I dumped it out) sip.
It's really, really malty, without a hint of hops.
Strobist: SB-800, set to 105mm, held above the bottle at 1/4.

Basically, this is a stronger, hoppier version of their regular IPA.. Bigger, badder, better i always say, ok i never say that... but, this is a 7.7% with over 100 ibu's. It's not a soft beer, n00bs beware! it is delicious though. Orangeish color, great hop smell and definitely brings the citrus-y oily hop character.
This is a great version of the double IPA style.
i know the graphic is weird, even though it reminds me of something a wolf teeshirt person would be into.... it's still a great beer.

Fullers - IPA 5.3% ABV. New bottle. This is an OK IPA, not hugely hopped, but a nice blend of malts and hops. I always get a taste of tea from this beer, maybe its just me. 6.5/10.
Summer quencher! IPA fermented with brettanomyces claussenii + mango, guava, tangerine and passion fruit. Dry-hopped with Mosaic and Citra.

In one of the buildings at Google, there's a whiteboard survey of what languages people speak. My dad added the "Igpay Atinlay" entry; I added /ɑi spik ɪn ɑi.pi.ei/ "I speak in IPA."
A highlight, beer-wise, of our trip: an Espresso Cloud IPA at the Macy's Starbucks. It was basically a glass of Brooklyn East IPA, and then you pour cold nitro espresso for a very neat visual effect, and a marvelous taste!
I opted for one of the IPA's - hoppy, bitter taste was quite pleasant.
