Alcohol (by volume): 6.5%
Tasted at: home
Stone Brewing Company is one of the most well known craft breweries in the world and is located in Escondido, North County San Diego. The flagship IPA is a strong hoppy brew at 6.9% alcohol by volume. The pour is semi hazy golden orange body with a two finger soapy white head. A huge hop drifts off the beer from a distance. At inspection the nose contains large amounts of grapefruit and citrus as well as a light toasty malt. The beautiful grassy citrus hops are mouthwatering in the nose alone. The middle of the taste is sweet with a light caramel maltiness and sweet hops. Upon swallowing, a moderately bitter grapefruit hop finish ensues with a mild alcohol finish. A lovely beer overall, the only hindrance being the high alcohol content makes this a non-session beer. None-the-less, I wish Stone Brewing had Canadian distribution to satiate my hop addiction. CHEERS!
We both agreed we liked Abrasive best. However, it was probably also technically the freshest (most recently canned) and that might play into it slightly. Even so, though, it just tastes better to both of us than Hopslam which was a close 2nd. TheGubna was ok, but a little old (April 2010). Despite the age, it held up pretty well. My Pliny clone is not nearly as good as it was when it was fresh and on tap. Still an ok beer to drink. We had a couple more homebrews after this, but then that was enough for the night.
Two Beers took their Flagship Evolutionary IPA , and increased the malt bill , added even more of the best Yakima Valley Simcoe , Amarillo , Citra and Columbus hops to give this double IPA a piney citrusy aroma

A pint of Centennial IPA from Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at Bierkraft in Brooklyn, New York.
I've reviewed this on bottle before. The draft version, also a 7.2% abv India Pale Ale, poured a clear colden color with a red tinge. Big hoppy aroma, needles and pine. Mouthfeel was smooth. Good malt sweetness in the start, then a gentle hop flavor (more gentle than I remembered the bottle) with pine and citrus notes. Nice bitter finish. Yummy, this is a very good and highly drinkable IPA.
It was one of thr BeerViking's birthdays. So we broke into the vault for a few tatsy brews. In order of drinking: Paulaner, BrewDog Atlantic IPA, Corodando, O IPA. Great session!
At the Museum Of Science And Industry, Manchester.
Now, how many museums do yo you know that are not only so enlightened as to hold beer festivals, but they also let you rest your beer on the exhibits? Try visiting the British Museum and popping your pint onto the Rosetta Stone. Or how about heading into the Louvre and have a go nestling a pint of stout in the Venus De Milo's boosum. Not going to happen is it?
But It happens at Mosi in Manchester.
The Beer is a good IPA. Not quite the best I had today, but still highly drinkable.
A bottle of Ægir India Pale Ale from micro brewery Ægir Bryggeri in Flåm, Norway, at Olympen.
This 6,5% abv IPA has a very rich hop aroma, obviously inspired by American IPAs, with a full body that strikes a good balance between bitter hops and the sweet malt. It's a very well balanced and dangerously drinkable IPA!
A beautifully bitter beer with strong hints of citrus.
Most of the heavily hopped IPAs have a heavy taste to them, but somehow this beer maintains a refreshing, almost citrus taste while keeping the strong bitter taste of hops.
So good.

News!
I've decided to blog this little quest of mine. Check out the blog here.

Don Mueang International Airport (Thai: ท่าอากาศยานดอนเมือง, IPA: [dɔ̄ːn.mɯ̄aŋ], or colloquially as Thai: สนามบินดอนเมือง, IPA: [sā.nǎːm.bīn.dɔ̄ːn.mɯ̄aŋ]) (IATA: DMK, ICAO: VTBD) (aka Bangkok International Airport) is one of two international airports serving Greater Bangkok, the other one being Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
The airport is considered to be one of the world's oldest international airports and Asia's oldest operating airport.[2] It was officially opened as a Royal Thai Air Force base on 27 March 1914, although it had been in use earlier. Commercial flights began in 1924, making it one of the world's oldest commercial airports. The first commercial flight was an arrival by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.[3] Don Mueang Airport was closed and replaced by the new Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2006, before reopening on 24 March 2007 after renovations. Since the opening of the new airport, it has become a regional commuter flight hub and the de facto low-cost airline hub. In 2015, it became the world's largest low cost carrier airport.[4]
Don Mueang was an important hub of Asia and the hub of Thai Airways International prior to its closure. At its peak, it served most[clarification needed] air traffic for the entire country, with 80 airlines operating 160,000 flights and handling over 38 million passengers and 700,000 tons of cargo in 2004. It was then the 14th busiest airport in the world and 2nd in Asia by passenger volume. Currently, Don Mueang is the main hub for Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Thai Lion Air, and Orient Thai Airlines.
Don Mueang International Airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 is used for international flights and Terminal 2 for domestic flights. The opening of Terminal 2 has raised the airport's capacity to 30 million passengers per year.[21]
Total passenger traffic through Don Mueang jumped 40.7 percent to 30.3 million in 2015, with international numbers rising 53.1 percent to 9.17 million and domestic passengers increasing 35.9 percent to 21.1 million. Aircraft movements rose by 29.8 percent to 224,074, including 158,804 domestic (up 26.2 percent) and 65,270 international (up 39.3 percent).[28]
