- www.kevin-palmer.com - After waiting hours for thick clouds to clear over Grundarfjörður, I gave up and headed back to my campsite. But to my surprise the clouds parted briefly as I got close to Olafsvik. I stopped at this perfectly calm lagoon, which was lit up by the moonlight. The aurora wasn't as active as before, but it was still visible.

Taken off Kolab Road, Zion National Park, Utah. The smudge on the left is from a fire over the hill. If I understand correctly this kind of erosion happens when a hard volcanic layer sits on top of sandstone. The top of this hill was a lava stream a couple million years ago.
