Many technics I tried to play with : dodge and burn, frequency separation, Toning, Noise, Highlights, Shadows, playing and making a dedicated background with a DIY vignetting.

Feel free to comment please, from bad to good comments, I would appreciate it !

The Catholic Church of the Royal Court of Saxony, Dresden, Germany.

Processed by using manual Digital Blending (4 exposures). All layers were blended with Wacom Intuos 5 - very useful tool

Some more adjustment was done by Nik software (Skylight filter, Vignette, Pro Contrast and little bit of GND for sky) and CS6 adjustments like Levels, Exposure and Vibrance

30 Seconds to Mars - Witness

I had so much fun with her. I've watched the movie last year. And last week, I bought the bluray version and enjoyed it along with my friends. I have to admit, even the plot was silly, and I never really like robots, I had a lot of fun to watch it.

Robots punching monsters in the face is very awesome! And I like Rinko Kikuchi's character in here as Mako Mori. She is vulnerable, yet she can kick ass! XD

Here are the new glasses of my wife !

I did frequency separation to soften the colours on her skin. The portrait was shot in natural light close to a window.

I added with Topaz texture a texture overlay to add a glamour atmosphere (+vignetting and borders).

New work, new location, new house, timeless... This shot to remember the Big Rush Life I live for the moment

This is a matte painting, created by yours truly.

There was no real purpose behind creation of this image; I was merely excercising my Photoshop muscles.

I used Adobe Lightroom 4.1 for pre-processing. Photoshop CC and Nik Software for matte painting and grading. I worked on a Windows 7 x64 powered HP portable workstation with Wacom Intuos 3 pressure sensitive tablet.

Note: There are some very deep, inky blacks in this image. To appreciate the shadow detail, I suggest you turn off all lights in the room. View the image in Full Screen mode.

I haven't been posting much lately, so here's a thing.

Birds attacking windows!

I took this photograph at the Tolminski korita (Tolmin Gorge) in Slovenia, back in 2012. This remote and mysterious location is found at the heart of the Triglav National Park, not too far from Tolmin. I can't wait to go back there to see what other treasures I'm going to discover!

Shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon TS-E 24mm lens lens in fully tilted, vertical position.

This image was processed with a combination of HDR tonemapping and hand painted luminosity masks (Dynamic Image Blending), using Photoshop CC 2015, Oloneo PhotoEngine, Google NIK Collection on a custom built-PC (Windows 10 Pro 64) with a Wacom Intuos PRO tablet.

Another attempt with this technic. I tried to make my best.

Feel free to give your opinion.

You really gotta hand it to Singapore as they’re quickly developing a world reputation for unique and extravagant architecture. The Supertree Grove is the latest addition and all along The Gardens By The Bay, there are 18 of these supertrees, ranging from 25 to 50 meters tall. During the day they provide a nice shady canopy to sit under and at night, they come alive with a display of light and sound.

Saying that, I’d also like to add that these things are ridiculously strange to see in person. The first time I walked through here in October with my good friends from The Landscape Hunters, I had a hard time keeping the WTF look off my face. I mean look at them, they’re giant metal trees! Really?!

They are also very fun to photograph and if you're in town for a few days make sure to check out the MBS Laser Show as well. :)

Location: Shot in Singapore - November 2012, and post-processed in Siem Reap, Cambodia - December 2012.

Hardware: 15” 2011 Macbook Pro, Wacom Intuos5 Small Tablet

Software: Lightroom, Photoshop, NIK HDR Efex Pro 2, NIK Color Efex Pro 4

Technique and Details: HDR Processing & Dynamic Blending

First, using NIK HDR Efex Pro, I blending all 5 exposure brackets together and brought the result into Photoshop. From there, I also blended in portions of a few different exposures with the HDR result to give it a more natural feel. Since there were many people in the scene, I spent a good amount of time painting them out by hand. It's during those times when I'm extra happy to own a Wacom Tablet.

After a severe case of Creative Constipation I finally came up with something I could post.

Digital Painting

Still thinking of a title...

... and thinking...

Done thinking. Brain just exploded, or better yet, imploded. Ah well, titles are overrated anyway.

Somewhere in Amsterdam with Kees Smans

A few news items:

1. I took 1st place with my Frozen Music series images at the 2011 International Photography Awards last month.

2. I have planned some workshops in Europe and in North and South America next year. I'll be doing them with other award-winning photographers.

3. I'm still thinking of a title for this photo...

Jounieh, Lebanon. (Dec 24, 2013)

I was impressed by the organized architectural chaos in this particular area of Jounieh in Lebanon. I used the Canon 70-300mm zoom lens which helped to compress the perspective and to maximize the effect of the built-up density on the hill in front of me.

Photographed without the tripod during the blue hour with Canon 5D Mk3 and Canon 70-300mm lens in high-ISO mode.

Processed with Lightroom 4.1, Photoshop CC, Nik Software plugins on Win 7 x64 powered HP portable workstation and Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.

Arrived at Swanage Pier early in the morning, hoping to capture the remnants of the old pier in the fog, this image I have been waiting for for 6 years, having only the weekends to venture out, with this image and a few from a few weeks back certainly was worth the wait.

I set up my tripod and camera on the shoreline, at 82mm captured the scene seen here.. I chose a long exposure of just 53 seconds after initially capturing a few test shots to get the ideal timing to create a smooth sea and help capture the floating fog, with the use of an ND 10 stop Firecrest filter and polariser.

The fog here not lasting very long and soon dissipated after this was taken and had better luck beginning of December and not processed yet. I did opt to leave part of the new pier and the seagull which waited while capturing this scene.

I tried to apply a kind of cartoon effect on this shot of my son Paul. I used near about 20 layers and effects in Photoshop to obtain this final shot. I wanted to have a cartoon effect while maintainig a real aspect. It's a tricky process. I have to learn again and again.

Strobist info : one strobe on the left side of the camera through white umbrella.

Fortunate to be passing Corfe back in May on my way to capture some wild Garlic and got distracted by the beautiful mist around Corfe. Also fortunate to be me and a couple more togs on the hill, probably everyone else in the woods photographing wild Garlic.

Forgetting how out of breath it is climbing this hill...

A single exposure edited in Lightroom with brush selections edited what I remember of the morning spent on the hill. Sun rising from the left.

Managing to get a handful of images here this being the first.

One of my favourite types and weaknesses of photography are the misty mornings...

The Falkirk Wheel captured after sunset, which does remind me of the Stargate series.

Should really got here just before it got too dark to get the equalisation of light as the wheel was very bright against the dark bleak with a hint of colour in the sky...

No filters used just the Sony 24-105mm Lens.

Funny portrait with Letterman, a new superhero. He symbolizes the power of the words.

The text is coming from the book "La condition humaine" from André Malraux (published in 1933), a French famous writer.

Photoshop process :

1 / Find a head and cut it from the background.

2 / Make a background in a layer filled with balck color (alt+delete).

3 / Create a 3rd layer with the text tool. Select the text you want and repeat it in order to have the layer full of words. Adjust with the dedicated tool the size and the space of the letters and so on until you find the effect you want.

4 / put the layer of the head just above the layer with the text. Then right click on the layer with the head and choose "clipping mask" (masque d'écrétage in French).

5 / Then you can adjust again the size of the letters etc. I choose to preserve the sun glasses.

I forgot to mention I did some frequency separation on the head at the beginning.

Strobist info : This was shot with a 110cm shoot-through white umbrella on the left with a 45° angle with an Yongnuo yn568 speedlight (with 622 wireless trigger). Yongnuo TX on the camera for easy wireless setup. Sekonic 758D.
