One of my favourite locations at Christchurch Quay, Managing to get a Ist of January image with frost and mist.
This one early enough to still have the park lights on and capturing a bit of colour in the atmosphere with the mist.
After a bit of a dry spell last year this is the day after some torrential rain so much so you could not get near the mill. Managing to get to this spot with the falls right next to where I could just see just the mill, also hard to describe how loud the water was gushing down the nearest resembling thunder.
Only my trusty Polariser used here and captured the moment a bit of sun decided to pop through the clouds, this being a late afternoon capture.
Press the 'L' key to get the most enjoyment from this image without distractions.
Sunrise on the River Stour Wimborne. Some great conditions with the sun burning it's way through the mist.
This is directly looking down the river Stour trying out my new Sony 24-105mm Lens.
Press the 'L' key to see without distractions.
Single exposure used!!!
Out and about Sturminster Newton way looking for a sunrise and got distracted at this location where there was dappled light through the trees and it was while photographing this fence line at differing focal lengths that the local squirrel popped it's head up with the moment captured here!!!
I wouldn't normally have the patience to wait for wild life to be in the right place, focus and speed with planning required plus the patience to wait is not for me and as you can see in front and behind the squirrel depth of focus is narrow so I count myself fortunate and lucky...
Opting not to focus stack the fence or any other part of the scene leaving a single frame with the subject focused instead..
Horton Tower captured on a misty morning moments leading into sunrise.
This composition a little different to the normal and always trying something different and using the tree here as foreground interest with the tower in the distance.
A challenging location for photography with this Long Exposure of just over 4 minutes working out quite well with probably well-known cottages ahead of the lagoon, what also worked well for me are the moody clouds as it was a grey and gloomy day.
Firecrest 16stop ND filter used.
A view from Eye Bridge situated in Wimborne looking up the river Stour Dorset.
A little bit of mist in areas and extremely cold and frosty with lots of frost during the cold spell in December, really liked the clouds and the still water on this particular morning, with the sun rising from the righthand side at this particular time of year and the sky looking like I used a brush.
The undulating landscape is what I liked here when taking this image with the well known trees on a hill to the left and sun rising and burning it's way through the morning mist.
Long exposure using a 10 Stop Fircrest Ultra 10 stop filter 41 Seconds. This was taken a little after sunrise where the tide at this point was receding.
Stormy day at Southwold Pier, this from last September and would have been around sunset time which was ok apart from there was no sun just a very stormy afternoon.
Managing to find a bit of shelter to one side of this pier from the wind and the help a a 16 stop firecrest nd filter to ensure nice streaky clouds and to get the ultra smooth ocean. The exposure here of just over 4 minutes. This being the only long exposure I could grab and opting for the conversion to B&W which seemed to suit the scene.
The wind was blowing right to left which made it easier for myself to shelter from most not all of the effects of the late windy afternoon, also no one else around either except my troubled wife wondering why....
Sunrise from Wareham bridge looking across towards the Yachts and Fog at sunrise.
The moment 2 ducks swimming adding a bit of interest.
Full manual settings used and also helped in capturing anything that moved at speed.
Captured in the Lakes, a tricky place to get too especially once it has rained a lot. The first day I was there it was almost dry from lack of rain, and went back after torrential rain the following day and grabbed a few images this being one of them. A very tricky place to negotiate once high levels of rain had fallen.
No other filter used apart from a polariser.
A frosty morning at Knowlton Church back towards the end of December.
Although the sunrise is from the other side ahead, found looking back from this spot looking ahead the most interesting spot. From this side the colour of the sky and sculptured landscape with frost stood out.
I could not make my mind up on the path, I could have cloned the path out and chose to leave it in.
Pressing the 'L' key to get a black screen helps appreciate the image without distractions.
Sunset at Mudeford Quay.
A location frequently visited and now and then an image captured with the tide out and sand lit by the setting sun...
No filters, just shooting straight into the sun just before it disappears below the horizon.
A lone tree on the banks of the River Stour, misty conditions the sun rising behind where I was standing. This moment captured during the time the sun came through lighting up the tree and foliage, and if you look closely someone leaving a t-shirt or jumper on the fence.
A peaceful morning of mist and sunshine with this image looking almost like a painting, and only seeing a couple of others walking.
Morning visit to Wareham with this image captured leading into sunrise with some early distant mist.
Any story with Dragon's in it is worth telling. My Contest Entry for Enchantments Photo Contest; LEGENDS OF FLIGHT: A MYTHIC JOURNEY THROUGH THE SKIES
Hatchet Pond frozen over. Not something I have witnessed myself before this particular day and captured from a different view point as this time of year sun too far to the left for the usual composition.
The sky turning Blue and orange.
Sunset captured here was quite amazing, this was captured judt over half an hour after the sun had gone down with the sky lighting up the sky with some beautiful pastel tones and the ocean fairly calm giving you the reflections.
Sunrise captured in September.
The sunrise didn't amount to much until at this point, when there was some rising mist coming up as the sun warmed up the landscape enabling me to almost get a silhouette of the trees and hill...
Another version of this long exposure during Sunset, a stormy day at Salford Quays in Manchester on a stormy day with storm Erik back in 2019.
This was the one occasion I wanted to do some reflections of Media city and ended up capturing the stormy sky!!!
Firecrest 10 stop ND filter used.
A visit to the New Forest and this iconic location Hatchet Pond for a sunset.
This captured around 20 minutes after the sun went down and the waters levelled out.
Early morning stroll at Buttermere with the bridge looking towards the Pine trees and the distant mountains, the light just catching the top of the mountain ahead and some low level morning mist.
Hong Kong's skyline is simply too amazing for words. You need to see with your own eyes and there's really no other way to do it. Featured is a traditional Sampan, 'native' to Hong Kong which takes you along the Victoria Harbour. There's probably no better way to see the symphony of lights in this incredible city.

My loyal Canon Eos 600D’s life has ended. With over 250 000 exposures, I am more than impressed with its performances.
The replacement camera will be a Canon Eos 70D. With canon’s latest offer, I will get a year of CC Photography Plan, and a Wacom Intuos Small Pro as well. Looking forward to test it out.
Another famous place I wish I could make a long exposure shot. Finaly I brought my family here and made quick shots.

Colour treatment was inspired by on of the Arthur C. Clarke's early science fiction novels titled 'The City and the Stars'.

Shot with Canon 5Dmk3 and Canon TS-E 17mm lens. Processed with Photoshop CC 2015, NIK Color Efex Pro 4 on a custom built PC, powered by Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I used Wacom Intuos Pro to paint the luminosity masks and lighting effects.
Spring time comes to Trnovo Forest Plateau, in Slovenia, one of the biggest forests in Europe. Winter bids its goodbye with the life-seeding rain the turns this primeval forest into the fragrant, green spectacle which needs to be experienced in person because it's too majestic for words.
I took this shot with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 70–300mm lens.
I processed the raw file in April 2016 with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015, NIK Collection on a custom built PC, powered by Windows 10 Pro 64. I used Wacom Intuos Pro graphic tablet.
