Immer wieder faszinierend, die besonderen Lichtstimmungen im Wald!
Always fascinating, the special light moods in the forest!
Danke an alle, die mein Foto mögen, favorisieren und kommentieren!
Thanks to all who like, favorite and comment on my photo!
I love these purple flowers, that I had to look up to find out what they were, Blue Grape Hyacinth. A few other photographers have favoured these as well and it's not hard to see why, as they are a very interesting flower. As it implies via the name how often in nature one witnesses imitation from one object to another, the variation is fascinating, especially for a nature nerd like me.
Here's to the weekend, I hope everyone has a good one and so as always, thank you! :)
Weir Lake, on the eastern slope of Table Mountain in the Eastern Sierra range of California is really a small pool along the South Fork of Bishop Creek flowing from South Lake.
At roughly 9500' of elevation, this location is often snow covered by mid-Autumn, though at this time, there was little snow, and plenty of cover. It was nice to experience some colors of fall, having grown up on the East Coast where Autumn is much more vibrant and varied in its hues.
Congrats on Explore!

To-day the hills put off their haze
And stand so green and clear
That every peak remote and strange
Is intimate and near.

Горы сияют сегодня без дымки,
Зелен и ясен их солнечный лик.
Близок, как будто в альбоме на снимке,
Каждый далекий заоблачный пик.

Conversation on balcony in the morning light in the Sestiere San Marco, Venice.
In winter there are times when the intimate ambience of Venice appears with the daily lives of their inhabitants. That what I really liked and tried to capture on our last trip to this city in February.

J.Saramago.
In the heart of the most secret mine,
Inside the most distant fruit,
In the vibration of the most discreet note,
In the spiral and resonant conch,
In the densest layer of paint,
In the vein that probes us the most in the body,
In the word that says softer,
In the root that goes lower, the more it hides,
In the deepest silence of this pause,
Where life became eternity,
I look for your hand and decipher the cause
Of wanting and not believing, final, intimacy
It was frosty, this morning, a little mist on the water. I was out before the sun had risen far enough to touch its surface, and was failing to catch an heron or great white egret - the latter is hidden amongst the reeds out of the left side of this frame. As the sun rose, it lit upon these swans and gulls, while the mist still hung undisturbed about. When I looked at the frame afterwards, I became aware of how quietly intimate this combination of things had been.
Swans, Blenheim Park, Oxon. Pentax K-S1, Pentax Super Takumar 300/4. Remarkably little tweaking in Photoshop.

Ducks are probably among my favorite photography subjects. Scenes where a usually spooky duck come close by and offer an intimate moment like this one are just icing on the cake. I like to mix up my posting and I was not going to post another duck today but, I could not resist John's request to post more... now be careful what you ask for as I have a lot of ducks photos :)
