I've seen more than a few Union Switch & Signal electro-pneumatic interlocking machines, but never one with an ornate lever light panel like this! This machine was positively beautiful, and the pictures don't do it justice.
This was at the ex-PRR Hudson Tower in Harrison, New Jersey, near the one-time location of Manhattan Transfer, where steam and electric power was swapped during the days before the PRR electrified their main lines between New York and Washington and Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
My PRR interlocking diagram book describes this machine as a US&S Model 13.
Here are diagrams for my 6 pentagonal prisms model. These diagrams show how to make it from 150 Starburst candy wrappers. To make it from just 90 pieces of "regular" paper, read the note on page 3.

This is a photo of the inside of the old interlocking signal box at Stiles Jct. This was the crossing of the Milwaukee Road mainline from Green Bay to Channing, and the Chicago and NorthWestern Branch from Oconto to Oconto Falls. I didn't get a chance yet to check my old timetables, but I believe it was an automatic interlocking.

This beach was a puzzle. Negotiable for only a couple of hours at low tide, both the hidden obstacles beneath the water and the dense maritime forest were hazardous. Much of it is now gone. Hunting Island, Beaufort County, South Carolina
Galway features a number of interlocking waterways which pass through the city and they have played a major role in its development as an industrial town.
The waterway system is a bit complicated and I am still trying to determine the names of all of the streams, mill races and canals. If my description is incorrect you are invited to correct me as necessary.
The Eglington Canal in Galway was built c.1850. It follows a curving path south from inflow from River Corrib Upper and passes under five bridges which have made watercourse non-navigable.
The canal begins to north of Salmon Weir on west bank of Corrib River (upper) where a small harbour is located.
The canal then proceeds south-west splitting into two separate waterways with the main canal continuing to south-west and a shorter but but equally substantial branch proceeding south beneath a road bridge and a modern pedestrian bridge and it the past this branch would have serviced a collection of mills which are built surrounding a small harbour at end of the branch.
The main canal continues south-west before curving back around to continue south-east after passing beneath two recent concrete road bridges. The Canal at these points is narrowed by about two metres eliminating need for more complex structures.
Between these two bridges is second branch which follows a south-easterly route before re-entering the canal south of lock basin via a stone-lined channel.
The lock basin has limestone block lining with limestone coping blocks, timber lock gates and box. One set of gates has been removed and the flow of canal is now regulated by the remaining gate and sluice racks to north of lock basin. The canal then continues to south-east before splitting again with south-east branch passing under William O'Brien Bridge and into Claddagh Quay and second branch travelling roughly north-east before re-entering River Corrib (lower) after passing over stone-lined weir.
DESCRIPTION:
“A flag with black field, and centre circle containing six coloured stripes of from top to bottom): red; orange; yellow; green, blue, and magenta. Upon the circle is displayed an interwoven five pointed star in black. The star is composed of five identical interlocking pieces, such that the left bar of each arm appears to overlap the right arm of the previous arm."
The rainbow stripes are derived from the LGBT pride flag (the six coloured stripes) and the pentagram (the interwoven five pointed star encircled). The colours represent variety in Queer and Pagan peoples. The black of the field and the pentagram represent the strength in unity, and the circle represents the whole rather than the part. As such, the design represents the intersection of Queer and Neo-Pagan communities, and is intended as the general flag of Queer Paganism.
The flag was originally designed in 1997 by Laura Anne Seabrook. The original version was made in vinyl and included an “Athena” symbol at the centre of the pentagram, to represent the modern Galli or Gallae (transgendered followers of the Magna Mater, Cybele). The inner symbol was later dropped to make it more appropriate as a general Queer Pagan flag, and full sized flag was made and carried in the 2006 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.
The flag design was released under a Creative Commons license on 28 July 2006 @ 10:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (via Live Journal) and is presented here at Flickr for further confirmation of this.

Twelve Interlocking Triangles #4 36 units Another view.
So, you might have guessed that I was going to fold this, and to be honest, the only thing interesting about for me was the I used some of the thinnest unit widths I have ever used- .6875".
I have something better on the way.
Designed by me.
Folded out of copy paper.
A classic rush hour scene in Jamaica, 4 trains meet at HALL interlocking in golden light. Train 658 is headed east out of 4 with 8 C3s & 2 DM30ACs, while a Far Rockaway train waits at the tunnel to slip into Track 3. On the right, a set of M7s waits to depart the layup track for Atlantic Terminal, while an M9 heads towards points east.

It is the final year of Conrail. Crest Tower in Crestline, Ohio, was closed but still standing. It stood at the crossing of the Fort Wayne Line and the Indianapolis Line. (Scanned from a Kodachrome slide)
VC Tower once controlled the tracks leading out of Portland Union Station in Oregon, now it serves as a shed for a MAX light rail control point. Its nice to see an older railroad structure spruced up and given a purpose after the tower was closed, instead of tearing it down.
Establishing good friendships at a young age helps a child to be better acclimated in society later on in their life (Newman & Newman, 2012).

Ear muffs, eye shield (these goes on top of glasses.. special!) and a mask for the stone dust. Don't breathe this dust, you'll be so very fucking sorry you did. I speak from experience.
The branch-interlocked cypresses symbolize loyal love. It is said that Puyi and Wanrong, the last emperor and empress of the Qing dynasty, had their photograph taken in front of the trees after their wedding ceremony to show that “we wish to fly in heaven, two birds with one pair of wings, and to grow together on earth, two trees with branches interlaced.”
I finished this in January of 1984. It seems to have survived storage and the years fairly well. I painted it as close as I could to match the Redondo tower color at that time. I also crudely hand lettered the safety sign that was on the tower then, as well.
I don't know, who is the author, but I'm sure somebody is. The idea is very simple, the proportions of units are very convenient: a square can be cut into 6 units (rectangles 1:3, 1:2 and 1:1) without rest.
Stunning interlocking driveway bordered by river rocks creates a rugged yet interesting low maintenance look for this Toronto home.
