Durante dos días, el Rector de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Dr. Gilberto Herrera Ruiz visitó la Sierra Gorda, con el propósito de realizar diversas actividades para consolidar el Campus Universitario de Jalpan de Serra, que atiende a jóvenes de este municipio y de las diferentes municipalidades de la zona norte del estado, a través de cinco Licenciaturas y el Bachillerato Semiescolarizado.
El Rector Herrera Ruiz se reunió con los alcaldes de Pinal de Amoles, Jorge Enrique Reséndiz Martínez; de Landa de Matamoros, Gabino Landa Rubio y de Jalpan, Miguel Ángel Torres Olguín.
Con los presidentes municipales de Pinal y Landa se habló de la posibilidad de apoyar a los jóvenes de sus respectivas municipalidades con becas para transporte y alimentación, ya que son muchos estudiantes que se trasladan diariamente de comunidades de estas localidades al campus universitario de la región.
Por su parte, con el edil de Jalpan, a través de la gestión que hizo el diputado Fernando Rocha Mier, se logró la entrega del proyecto de construcción de un comedor universitario para este campus, el cual tendrá una inversión de aproximadamente 400 mil pesos, ya que de acuerdo a lo que comentó el Rector ésta es una obra prioritaria para los jóvenes estudiantes del Campus Jalpan.
“Es necesaria la construcción de este comedor, ya que en muchas ocasiones estudian con sólo una comida, lo que afecta en su rendimiento escolar, por lo que es necesario que dispongan de este servicio”, señaló.
Asimismo, con el edil jalpense y el legislador local, se planteó la posibilidad de gestionar un predio de 5 a 10 hectáreas con el propósito de edificar un rancho universitario donde la UAQ podrá, en un mediano plazo, ofrecer una licenciatura tanto en materia agrícola como pecuaria, y tendrá un área destinada a la investigación en materia de Biología.
De igual manera, el Rector Gilberto Herrera Ruiz se reunió con integrantes del Patronato Universitario de la Sierra Gorda, que preside Gilberto Pedraza Núñez, donde se refrendó el compromiso de buscar mecanismos para apoyar a esta importante institución educativa.
En estos días de trabajo el encuentro con estudiantes y profesores fue prioritario para iniciar los trabajos que se requieren para la consolidación de este campus. Al respecto afirmó que “se les dotará de lo necesario para su desarrollo académico”.
Agregó que en primera instancia se trabajará en la acreditación de las carreras que actualmente se ofrecen, para después seguir creciendo: “La propuesta es consolidar las opciones educativas que tenemos en el Campus Jalpan, mejorar todas las problemáticas que tenemos de conectividad, de Internet, de infraestructura física y posteriormente crecer”.
También asistió a la Clínica de la Mujer ENSAIN (Enfermería y Salud Interactiva), para coordinar las mejoras que se le harán a este espacio universitario, en el que se brindan servicios y atención a la población femenina con el fin de prevenir el cáncer de mama y cérvicouterino, a través de la detección temprana que puede lograrse con el mastógrafo y el colposcopio con que está equipada.
Cabe señalar que el próximo 20 de febrero esta Clínica llevará a cabo una jornada de trabajo entre la población femenina de la sierra para la prevención y detección temprana de cáncer.

I created my vehicles over the summer, and am just getting around to posting some screen shots. Este sprint consiste na montagem uma instalação interactiva que poderá ser controlada local e remotamente, através de um sistema mecânico e através de um serviço web. O objectivo deste projecto é aproximar o público em geral da actividade do laboratório, criando um interface com o mundo exterior.
Os sprints são sessões de trabalho intensivas em que os membros dos laboratórios, assim como visitantes e convidados se juntam em equipas para trabalhar em projectos concretos durante um fim-de-semana.

This playground is a large interactive video art installation. Up to 40 people can move around the different angles and slopes of this space, while the system’s projectors, which cover an area of 360º, create the illusion of changing the physical volume.
Polygon Playground interacts on the basis of a sensory system that tracks users’ movements. The system responds to these movements by warping and undulating a digital projection on the surface of the polygon, creating waves and streams of light all along the itinerary. The projections change at random, altering the physical perception: from a solid model, a geometric network or glowing balls of light to a luminous iceberg or the illusion of filling the entire piece with water.
