Eduardo Kac presents work on Bio Art, Telepresence & Biotelematic Art. Networked Telepresence. Integrating physical with the digital. This project is a play on perspectives.

Interaktive Medien im realen Raum

Interreaction is my master's thesis in communication design. The book is about interactive systems in physical space. It is meant to give communication designers an insight into the world of interaction design. Thus it enables them to make concepts for interactive projects and better communicate with the interaction designers in the team.

Some of the insides of the original prototype.

The real-cost cafe was designed as a restaurant. Video on large screens of restaurant workers combined with personal "place setting" screens to inform visitors about the total-environmental costs that are associated with common seafoods. The association of the information to the environment where it would later be needed was spot on. The content wasn't preachy, either, letting you (or those who eat seafood, anyway) decide to internalize this message for yourself.

On the left was the cook, who spoke of things in the dialogue from his perspective. In the middle was the counter waitress. On the right was either a host or a table waiter, I couldn't figure out exactly who he was supposed to be.

This hole opened to the bottom of the towel space, allowing you to grab the towel from the bottom of the stack.
