The Inter-University Peace League is the first of its kind, aiming to bring university students together, organized by University of Juba with support of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan UNMISS.
A number of colourful events and cultural performances, by the Chinese, Rwandan and Japanese contingents, were part of today’s activities.
Four football teams, two from the University of Juba, one from the Catholic University and one from the University of Upper Nile, also competed.
The University is the place of ideas said the head of the UN Mission in South Sudan David Shearer, Special Representative of the Secretary General.
Referring to the current affairs, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Juba Professor John Akec noted that peace can be built through collaboration.
