BUMP'N'JUMP for your Intellivision and Atari 2600.

It's very simple. You either bump'em or you jump'em. How you can tell WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON from the little graphic snippet there is beyond me, but gotta get bump'n and jump'n if you want to be King of the Road.

Road...grey wiggly expanse of pixels, whatever.

This is the back cover of a 1984 issue of "Arion, Lord of Atlantis", from DC Comics.

Intellivision Lives: The History of Video Gaming

We've known each other for so long

Your heart's been aching, but you're too shy to say it

Inside we both know what's been goin' on

We know the game and we're gonna play it

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling

Gotta make you understand

-- Rick Astley, "Never Gonna Give You Up"

I don't usually place anything up here that is not a photo or video but this is an exception. I have held onto this catalogue from the bad old days of consoles when a high score meant something dammit! LOL

The year is 1982. These "gaming" companies still had no idea on how to market this stuff properly. This is a classic example here! LOL The catalogue has titles such as Astrosmash, Star Strike, Tron, NHL Hockey and my favourite Auto Racing!

The Mattel Aquarius Controller is the direct descendant of the Intellivision’s hand controller. They took out the side buttons and cut the number pad in half and made it pluggable, but left the pain-inducing disc in the same place. That’s okay, though, because there isn’t actually anything you’d want to play on the Aquarius, so it doesn’t matter how bad the Mattel Aquarius Controller sucks.

Then again, the system does have a version of Tron: Deadly Discs.
