Wolf in the rain, the Mercantour National Park, France

Since 1992, the wolves that had been exterminated in France over a hundred years ago are living here again. They kept migrating across the Italian ‘green border’.

Today, there are 25 to 30 wolves divided into packs of five to six, roaming through the seven valleys of the park again.

The Mercantour National Park is a unique nature reserve located in the very southeast corner of France. It covers an area of 2152 square kilometers, almost the size of the Principality of Monaco. The Mercantour is a unique nature reserve that aims at integrating distinguished ideals such as the protection of nature, the local and economic advancement and the preservation of traditional land use.

The natural bridge is located 3.5 km from the town of Maimará at a height of 2334 masl in the Humahuaca Gorge, 76 km from the capital San Salvador de Jujuy in the province of Jujuy, Argentina. It is a beautiful geological formation, shaped by water and wind work over the years, which enchants both its impressive shape and its location in the middle of hills and cardones characteristic of the region. The view to the natural bridge gives the walker the possibility of integrating with nature in its fullness.

Photo showing the circular drive inside the park surrounded by athletic fields on the outer edge. The field on the right was used as a landing strip by small planes in the early years. The US Post Office initiated its very first airmail service from this very spot.

Completed in 1909 Daffin Park was the first green space developed in Savannah since 1858 when Forsyth Park was completed. As such, much attention of paid to the integration of the automobile into the design of the park, as the car was quickly becoming the new mode of personal transportation to a hungry middle class exploring the suburbs..

The park was located past the old grandstands of the Savannah Gran Prix Auto Race on Victory Drive [then Dale Ave.]..

Two tree lined alleys formed a circular drive surrounding a central mall. Entrances & exits to the park were provided at each end at Bee Rd. & Waters Ave.

The park was athletically inspired, having a soccer field, tennis courts, basketball court, a lake for swimming, and a baseball diamond. A municipal stadium was built in 1930 which was enlarged and became Grayson Stadium in 1940. Daffin Park paved the way for a new development of Parkside Place along it southern boundary at Washington Ave.

For Macro Mondays "Numbers" theme. A mechanical integrator is a complex device that was used to calculate ship's stability before digital computers became practical. The complete device is similar to this image: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mechanical_integrator_CHM...

The lens used was an old manual Zuiko 80mm f/4 macro on a sliding extension tube and micro 4/3's adapter, in spite of what the exif info states. Four Olympus high res shots were stacked in Photoshop. I would of liked to gotten one more but ran of focus adjustment.

Tower of San Pedro

Built in the 13th century, with an original height of 25 meters, it is the oldest of the Teruel Mudejar towers.

Typologically it responds to the model of tower-door, since in its inferior plant a vaulted passage of pointed canyon is abre that allows the road circulation and its integration in the urbanistic network of the city.

It fits within the Mudejar towers of Christian structure formed by a single external tower of rectangular plant and divided into three overlapping rooms.

Built for BrickWorld 2017. Features landing pads for 10 ships. Features over 100 lights, working turbolift, exhaust fans and iridescent planet lighting.
