"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons." — Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1))

In the grand scheme of me defying everything, in this one instance, I've done the shameful.

Breaching the my clients confidentiality.

And here I present it to you.

Popshuvit's Amped & Dangerous Limited Edition EP.

Why do it you ask?

Why publicise your work when it isn't even out yet? Even when it is currently being produced.

Here's the answer:

I did it because I hate them.

Next question: Why?

This project involves a superb high glossed packaging finish and is presented in an "action figure", "trading card" styled look and feel. Think G.I Joe Toys or Trading Cards.

Because it is called a "Limited Edition EP", only 1,000 copies will be produced for now, and will only be available by hand via attending any of their shows. So for those of you itching to get one, get your crisp notes ready because the first date of this release will be at the Rock The World 7 concert, held in Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Needless to say, if you aren't the first and only among the 1,000 people who get it- tough banana's.

The price is stupendously cheap for the amount I slogged on this. Its simply because this one is going out to the kids and people who have supported them for so long. A thank you token that they felt was necessary. Even with the price.

Personally? I wouldn't charge less than a King's ransom for the blood, sweat and tears as my files kept disappearing, getting corrupt, and having my system crash more times than I've been on dates.

But thats just how it goes I guess.

You still didn't answer the question: Why do you hate them?

The answer is simple, how could you NOT hate them for putting so much effort and expecting almost nothing?!

P.S- Get 'em while they're hot. I'm not kidding.

Car breakdowns usually occur unexpectedly. In some instances, there’s always a need to hire a tow truck to help take the vehicle to the garage, regardless of whether it broke down in your garage, on the road or while on a parking lot. Designed to provide a variety of advantages, each type is used in different towing applications. Choosing the most appropriate option with regard to your needs is all you need to do.

Here’s a list of the four main types of towing vehicles each accompanied by their appropriate applications.

1. Tow Trucks With A Flatbed

The most common type of tow trucks across the world is the flatbed variety. These trucks are designed with an extended, empty flat top bed. The flatbed can be moved up or down using hydraulics. Since you can have your vehicle pulled up, or driven onto the flatbed, these tow trucks are considered to be easy to use. These trucks show their value when it comes to transporting vehicles that have been in a car crash or are experiencing roadside issues. A flatbed tow truck can be used in the transportation of a variety of boats and vehicles. These trucks are considered to be one of the safest options when it comes to towing vehicles.

2. The Integrated Towing Truck

Since they are much more specialized, these tow trucks are used in heavy duty applications. Integrated tow trucks are usually used in the transportation of buses or other trucks. The arm on the tow truck is more embedded in the chases of the truck, while extra axles are used to increase its strength and stability.

3. The Hook And Chain Towing Truck Variety

These types of towing trucks are used to ferry a variety of cargo types. Since this towing method places a lot of unnecessary pressure on the vehicles being towed, it is no longer used as widely as it once was in the past. This towing method is best suited for use in towing wrecked vehicles being transported to the junk yard simply because the wrapped chain can scratch or damage the vehicle.

This towing method can damage the drive train on 4x4 and all-wheel drive vehicles, and is therefore not suitable for such applications. Since additional damage to wrecked or junk vehicles does not actually matter, hook and chain tow vehicles are commonly used to tow such vehicles nowadays.

4. Wheel Lift Towing Vehicles

These towing vehicles use a similar working mechanism as the hook and chain variety. There is a lower likelihood of these towing vehicles damaging the vehicle being towed due to the use of a metal yoke instead of a hook and chain. The rear or front wheels are hooked onto the metal yoke. So as to hoist the vehicle from the ground and pull it away, a hydraulic or pneumatic lift is used to raise the front or rear part of the vehicle being towed. Entrance wheels are used to pull front drive vehicles. These tow trucks are more affordable than the safer flatbed variety described above.

Le Tribunal de Grande Instance, Bordeaux.

Liverpool Cathedral.

South Choir Aisle - Rose Window, c1911.

Designed by John William Brown (1842-1928).

Made by James Powell & Sons, Whitefriars.

Detail.

The images in the rose window show instances of God's power being demonstrated through water, namely Noah holding a model of the ark, Jesus calming the disciples in a storm, Jesus walking on water, and St Paul after his shipwreck in Malta.

John William Brown was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and trained as an artist under William Bell Scott, a friend of William Morris. He was employed by Morris & Co and later by James Powell & Sons before he became a freelance designer. He continued to undertake commissions for Powell's up to 1923, but in the later part of his career most of his work was carried out for Henry Holiday.

James Powell & Sons, situated on the site of the former Whitefriars monastery, between the Thames and Fleet Street, was producing mainly flint glass when it was bought in 1834 by James Powell, a London wine merchant. On his death the firm passed to his three sons Arthur, Nathaniel and James Cotton Powell, who in 1844 established a stained glass department. The latter benefitted from the scientific researches of Charles Winston, a lawyer by profession, who had dedicated himself to the study of medieval stained glass. It had made him aware of the shortcomings of the glass available to contemporary artists, this being often thin and garish in colour. In 1847 he encouraged experiments aimed at rediscovering the chemical components of medieval glass and persuaded the firm of James Powell & Sons to produce 'antique' glass to his recipes. It was mainly due to this collaboration that the firm was to become one of the most important studios and glass manufacturers of the Victorian period.

I had my camera on auto focus, and in several instances, it didn't focus on what I wanted, like this one.

This is River Edge Road, which crosses over the Hackensack River. The crossroads that get flooded down here are Columbia, Harvard, and Holland. This area floods every time there is a significant storm. The reason all these emergency vehicles and volunteers are here is because people did not evacuate their homes and needed to be rescued. Why? I just don't know. Maybe they were unable to evacuate. Maybe they felt it was more beneficial to stay to control what they could (which isn't much). Maybe they thought they had to leave their pets behind (which I don't think was the case) and didn't want to do that. I just don't know. These people had three dogs. She's carrying two and he's walking the larger one. They spent all day evacuating people. And there were double blade helicopters that came in when it got dark, I guess to continue evacuations? I know a cop heard people crying for help, and it turned out some 20-something year olds tried to cross the flooding to try to salvage a few cars. I think the helicopters were for them. My father is a volunteer fireman and has done many of these river rescues. This storm, he was called into work where he had to stay for a few days.

I would say that, at it's deepest, the water was about maybe 3 or 4 feet deep. (?) Not sure. I'm just gauging that by where the water comes to on the signs, in the middle of the flooding. The river is the boundary between River Edge and New Milford. Pretty easy to see why they call it River Edge. And why this is River Edge Road. This was not high tide.

It is often the case that one receives an inheritance at a time of heightened emotions. This is generally not the best situation for objective decision-making and it may initially add to one’s stress. Regardless of your financial or emotional state, take some time to figure out the best use of your inheritance. Inheritances can be bequeathed in many forms, and it is important to understand what you are working with. Before making any major financial decisions, consider speaking with your financial advisor and/or an attorney or tax professional. Expedient decision making is important in many instances in life, but this is not one of them.

for instance: bagel always trumps croissant in a breakfast sandwich. did you know that? that's neither here nor there, I guess. this is a ham sandwich.

I had three mechanical instances during my weekend ride, two of them my fault, and one bad luck (lost the end screw of the decaleur 😕).

2. The chain disengaged when I mis-shifted after a long intense vertiginous downhill and quickly going up the vertiginous uphill. It could’ve been a chainsuck, so I got lucky.

3. But the luckiest was before the ride started, when Lance from Kansas pointed me to the fact that my rear wheel was not seated properly 😱 It was off about 2-3 mm. The worst is that I couldn’t remember how long I’d been riding around like that, and I had just waxed the chain the night before and didn’t notice. My “workspace” is too small and dark, and it’s given me a lesson to learn and improve.

Sometimes we take for granted how lucky we are.

129th entry in Mr T's challenge to post a picture every day

Artistic impression:

Aaargg... Caught in the stony fangs of the giant rock spider!

I didn't hear any noise, I just noticed a foul stench like from a dark cave with stale water and walls covered in fungus. I just had the time to turn around, stare down her many stony eyes and take this picture. I feel the tightening grip of her fangs as I slowly get pe-tro-fied...

Ha ! Uhm,... What? Oh, I -uhm- I was only wandering off in a day dream :-).

Historical note:

The earliest foundations of this Beguinage Church (early gothic style) date back to 1245 AD.

It's the second oldest church of this type in Belgium (the oldest is situated in Liège).

In 1843 the church and neighbouring buildings were sold to the friars Dominicans who transformed the site into a convent. The friars were very popular in Tienen, that is why the church was (and still is) known as the Friars Church (Flemish: "Paterskerk").

But alas, this historical site was not without (more than) its share of bad fortune:

- many buildings were destroyed during a bombing raid in the second World War (the church itself was spared).

- on 22 sept. 1976 the church was destroyed beyond repair in a fire.

In 1997 after restauration / conservation of the ruins the site was transformed into a small park with an historical and touristic character.

Nowadays, this site is very popular, for instance, for taking wedding pictures. I guess the friars of old can be proud of the fact that their church is conserved for eternity and will never be forgotten.

"Already a successful lawyer and Judge of the Court of First Instance of Batangas City, Leon Apacible was also a clandestine rebel by 1890s, when his house became a meeting place of the resistance leaders. In 1892, the colonial government discovered his activities and he was deported to Lepanto in the Mountain Province. Upon his return he joined General Miguel Malvar’s forces. As formidable a warrior as he was a lawyer, by 1898 he commanded his own forces in Batangas.

The original Apacible house was built in the 18th century, renovated in 1870, and again in 1940. The ornamental carvings and the “3″V” motif inscribed into the doors, floors and even the dining room table are the results of the renovation.

The architecture of the sala is a mixture of Filipino design and art deco, and while the size and grandeur is overwhelming, the true beauty is in the details. The picture frames, wall sconces and chandeliers are all works of art. Just outside the sala, on the way to the dining room, is an altar to the Virgin Mary. The hands and head of the image are made of ivory; the floral rococo case is elaborately carved and painted in gold.

The massive dining room table is actually one piece of wood cut vertically from the tree so the grains run in the same direction. On one side of the dining room are cabinets for chinaware imported from England, Italy and China."

Description: Comb graves in McDonald Cemetery, Overton Co., Tenn.

Date: November 11, 2012

Creator: Dr. Richard Finch

Collection name: Richard C. Finch Folk Graves Digital Photograph Collection

Historical note: Comb graves are a type of covered grave that are often called "tent graves." The length of the grave was covered by rocks or other materials that look like the gabled roof or comb of a building. They were popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is conjectured that these graves were covered to protect them from either weather or animals, or perhaps both. While comb graves can be found in other southern states, the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee has the highest concentration of these types of graves.
