It was very dark inside this room because the light was only one in the room. So I set a sensitivity setup of the camera to ISO12800, we can see the details of drawing on the Fusuma panels.

I always love how early morning light had this ability to penetrate old stained glass windows gently, without any harshness. These portals are at least 100 years old and are witness to the tumult of times.

This picture was shot inside the akhara's little room which is located nearby Scindia ghat along river Ganga in Vanarasi (Benaras).
I met this wrestler who knew that I took many pictures there, he asked me to take a few shots while he was practicing some exercise.
Wrestling takes place in akharas (gymnasia).
The members of an akhara are affiliated to the institution through their allegiance to a guru.
Every akhara is managed by a guru and a cohort of his age mates, guru-bhais, who are known by the junior members as dadas.
Wrestling in modern India is a synthesis of two different traditions: the Persian form of the art brought into South Asia by the Moguls, and an indigenous Hindu form that dates back at least to the eleventh century A.D.

When I don’t have enough time to prepare a fancy dessert, this is one of my favourite choices! An Asian meal requires lots of prep (lots of ingredients which need chopping, roasting, portioning in small bowls, etc). Making meringue for dessert is ideal since you can get on with other things both while making and baking it. Then, before you start cooking the main meal, just trim some fresh fruit, steep with spirits, whip some cream with and flavour with the same spirits, then layer. Decorate with sprigs of fresh herbs such as mint for an impressive-looking but easy dessert! ( visit my gourmet webzine to find out how to make Perfect Meringues)
I had some exceptionally sweet strawberries for this time of year, so I used Cointreau, a French orange liqueur. Along with the liqueur, I also added a little brown sugar to the whipped cream. It was the perfect finale to my Asian meal of Pot Sticker Dumplings to start, followed by Vietnamese-style Lemongrass Chicken , Chinese Curried Prawn Noodles, and steamed Chinese vegetables.

One of the critical things I do each week is make sure I spend time with my daughter. I know how important dads have on a child's life especially little girls. An hour a week can make a huge impact on a child's life. Another thing I do is make sure she has photos of her dad spending time with her loving her. Something I wish I had more of with my dad when I was a child.

These are so, so good. A different league than any other. Each has it's own tiny serving of broth on the inside: pick it up with chopsticks and put it on a spoon, bite a tiny hole to let the broth seep out and enjoy.
Sometime interior designers have odd ideas about the lobby's furniture. This picture has been taken inside the lobby of Greco Pallas Hotel in Athens. You can have a look at the lobby in www.grecotelpallasathena.com
INGREDIENTI: x 6 persone
2 melanzane lunghe
250 gr di salsiccia di maiale
200 gr di formaggio bitto
15 rettangoli di sfoglia fresca agli spinaci
1/2 cipolla bianca
50 gr di burro per la besciamella + un poco per la gratinutura
50 gr di farina 00
500 ml di latte
olio extravergine d'oliva
1 rametto di rosmarino
un goccio di vino bianco
noce moscata
sale q.b.
PREPARAZIONE:
Lavate le melanzane e tagliatele, dal lato corto, a fette sottili circa 5 mm.
Salatele leggermente e lasciatele spurgare per 10 minuti. Tamponatele con carta da cucina, scaldate una bistecchiera e grigliatele su entrambi i lati.
In una padella fate soffriggere un po' di cipolla bianca con 2 cucchiai di olio e un rametto di rosmarino. Aggiungete la salsiccia tagliata a piccoli pezzetti e fatela rosolare per 10 minuti. Sfumate con un goccio di vino e levate dal fuoco.
Preparate una besciamella in modo classico facendo il roux con circa 50 gr di farina e 50 di burro e aggiungendo circa 500 ml. di latte caldo. Fate cuocere fino ad addensare. Unite quindi un pizzico di sale e di noce moscata.
Togliete la crosta al formaggio e grattugiatelo con una grattugia a fori larghi.
Prendete una teglia abbastanza grande e sporcatene il fondo con qualche cucchiaio di besciamella.
Disponete le sfoglie di pasta (3 per strato), che avrete precedentemente lessato in acqua per circa 4-5 minuti, e incominciate a farcire la lasagna mettendo in ogni strato qualche fetta di melanzana grigliata, un po' di salsiccia, due cucchiai di formaggio bitto grattugiato e 4-5 cucchiai di besciamella.
Sovrapponete un secondo strato di pasta e continuate con il ripieno fino a chiudere l'ultimo strato solo con la pasta e la besciamella. Distribuite sulla superficie qualche fiocco di burro ed infornate a 200° per circa 20-25 minuti. Gli ultimi 5 minuti accendete il grill fino a doratura.

2 long eggplants
250 gramms pork sausage
200 gramms of Bitto cheese
15 rectangles of fresh pasta with spinach
1/2 white onion
50 gramms butter for the white sauce + a little to brown
50 gramms flour 00
half liter milk
extra virgin olive oil
1 sprig of rosemary
a dash of white wine
nutmeg
salt
PREPARATION:
Wash the eggplants and cut from the short side, into thin slices.
Salt the slices and let them bleed for 10 minutes. Dry with paper towels. Heat a griddle and grill the eggplant on both sides.
In a pan fry a bit of white onion with 2 tablespoons of oil and a sprig of rosemary. Add the sausage, cut into small pieces and cook for 10 minutes. Add the wine and remove from heat.
Prepare a bechamel sauce: make the roux with 50 grams of flour and butter and add warm milk. Cook until thicken. Add a pinch of salt and nutmeg.
Remove the rind to the cheese and grate it.
Take a baking dish large enough, put to the bottom few spoonfuls of béchamel.
Place the sheets of pasta (3 per layer), previously boiled in water for about 4-5 minutes, and start stuffing the lasagna. Put in each layer a few slices of grilled eggplant, a bit of sausage, two tablespoons of Bitto cheese and 4-5 tablespoons of bechamel.
Overlaying a second layer of dough with the filling and continue until you close the top layer only with the pasta . Distribute on the surface the remaining bechamel and a few flakes of butter. Bake at 200 ° C for about 20-25 minutes. The last 5 minutes turn on the grill until the surface is golden brown.

Lloyd's Building, Lime Street, London, England
Another image upload from London Open house weekend taken in the Lloyds building. This time taken from a different perspective to the other upload I did.
What really caught my eye in this is the repetition of the the spot lights, I wonder how many they used in this building. When editing this image I did have trouble balancing out the light coming in from the roof compared the the dark part of at the bottom (as I am sure many who have taken photos here before have found the same problem) however I think I have managed to balance it out right.
It seems that I have still got quite a few images from the open house weekend still the edit. I am also itching to get back out with my new camera as I have still got a few places I want to visit on my 'to do list.'

The Lloyd's building (also sometimes known as the Inside-Out Building) is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London, and is located at 1, Lime Street, in the City of London, England.
It was designed by architect Richard Rogers and built between 1978 and 1986. Bovis was the management contractor for the scheme.[2] Like the Pompidou Centre (designed by Renzo Piano and Rogers), the building was innovative in having its services such as staircases, lifts, electrical power conduits and water pipes on the outside, leaving an uncluttered space inside. The twelve glass lifts were the first of their kind in the UK. Like the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the building was highly influenced by the work of Archigram in the 1950s and 1960s.
The building consists of three main towers and three service towers around a central, rectangular space. Its focal point is the large Underwriting Room on the ground floor, which houses the famous Lutine Bell. The Underwriting Room (often simply known as the Room) is overlooked by galleries, forming a 60 metres (197 ft) high atrium lit naturally through a huge barrel-vaulted glass roof. The first four galleries open onto the atrium space, and are connected by escalators through the middle of the structure. The higher floors are glassed-in, and can only be reached via the outside lifts.

The Pazzi Chapel is a religious building in Florence, central Italy, considered to be one of the masterpieces of Renaissance architecture. It is located in the "first cloister" of the Basilica di Santa Croce.
Though funds for the chapel were assembled in 1429 by Andrea Pazzi, head of the Pazzi family, whose wealth was second only to the Medici, construction did not begin until about 1441. The chapel was completed in the 1460s, almost two decades after the death of the architect, Filippo Brunelleschi, himself.
The main purpose of the building was obviously for the teaching of monks and other religious purposes. However, a suspected ulterior motive was for the Pazzi family to make a mark on the city of Florence Italy,to show their wealth and power in Renaissance era Italy. The fact that the city was at war with a neighboring city at the time and still acquired the funds to build this chapel showed the importance it had to the Pazzi family and the people of Florence.
Was a work of Filippo Brunelleschi, it now seems that he most probably was responsible for the plan, which is based on simple geometrical forms, the square and the circle, but not for the building's execution and detailing. A façade that he had begun, and of which only the lower register can be seen, was partially obscured by the addition of a porch. The main inspiration for this piece was the Dominican monastery of Santa Maria Novella in Florence Italy.
The size of the chapel was predetermined by existing walls, creating an unusual situation, however, where the space was not square as in the Old Sacristy, which was the model for this building, but rectangular and transept-like and thus in contradistinction to the square, axially-placed altar. Despite this, and its complex history, the building gives us insight into the ambitions of Renaissance architects in their struggle to bring coherence to the architectural language of columns, pilasters, arches and vaults. Between the pilasters in the transept there are tall, blank, round headed panels and, above them, roundels, common Renaissance decorative motifs. The architectural elements of the interior are all in pietra serena ("serene stone"). The building also used bearing masonry in its construction, which is mason units or concrete blocks with lime and man made adhesives to stick them together.

This will eventually get pushed into one of the salt shakers I have... I still need to needle felt some roving into this and add a few beads.
13. After you've sanded them, give them a quick rinse in water to take the dried dust off and then buff.
My secret magical buffing cloth is the inside of a 95% polyester/5% Lycra velour fabric. Strange but true! It works great.
I rub the entire bead, bare clay and frosted parts, to make sure any remaining loose powder has been rubbed off.
