Lisa was in the later stages of labour for more than 5 hours and was managing without Pethidine or an epidural. Even though the labour ward was full the midwife called her "The star of tonight's show". At about 2:30am the midwives noted that the baby's heartbeat was racing and called for a doctor. After an examination and tests (painful without that epidural) they concluded the baby had inhaled meconium from the womb. Suddenly lots of people appeared from nowhere and, after Lisa had signed the appropriate forms and waivers, was put under general anaesthetic and rushed away for an emergency caesarian. After the longest ten minutes I've ever known -not one but two of the people I love most having emergency operations- I was presented with our beautiful daughter, Emily. I held her in my arms for an hour and a half while we waited for Lisa to come 'round.
This is a photo of Emily after her first feed, about 5am.
Mother and baby are both doing really well and will be home in a few days.

Playing around with Poppy's hair. I kinda like the Splash mermaid looking hair in the bottom left photo but ultimately I think I want to slick it back and straighten it and see if I can make her a bit edgy.
In case anyone wanted to take down her bump, which wasn't that bad in person and did look cute, she has two pins in her hair and the bump piece is longer than the rest of the hair. She has two rooted "sides" so you can choose which side you want to lay her hair but there is a big bald spot in the middle of her head so if you were planning on displaying, you might need to add a few plugs. Her bangs are woven inbetween the forehead rooting line, as you can see in the messy ponytail photo. I think with a little gel, her bags would not be a problem to hide if one wanted to. :)

I was given a lot of crap today about some of the little things I do. Certain quirky things about me seem to fascinate some people - and amuse others (ahem), so I decided to share my story.
I have OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), which kind of makes me do things a little differently. I'm obsessed (pun not intended) with symmetry, lines, repetition, even numbers (except seven and multiples of five), organization, counting, etc. I find myself walking, not realizing I've been counting the steps I've taken. I can't have the volume in a stereo on anything other than a multiple of five. I know how many stairs people have in their houses. And for whatever reason, I can't have people walk behind me on the stairs. (I'm still not sure whether that's just paranoia, or has to do with the OCD.) Just random, little things that don't get to other people absolutely make me freak out.
Finally, about this shot...
I have carried, for as long as I can remember, the same seven pennies in my right front pocket of whatever pants I happen to be wearing. I have these pennies on me at almost all times, and if they aren't on me, they're in a zipper pouch inside my camera bag that's with me at all times.
After taking all the crap from my friend (and answering a load of questions), he finally asked if I'd ever taken pictures of them. I was kind of put off at first, because this was so personal, but then I figured "What the hell?" and took some shots of them tonight.
So. Enjoy a piece of me. :)

I posted a while back one of the frames I used to make this. But when I saw thec scene, I actually saw it in HDR, and now I finally had some time to process it. In order to properly see the effect I wanted to achieve, you need to be about 3-5 feet away from your screen. Try it! :-)
This was taken inside the Panthéon in Paris. As I said before in the previously mentioned shot description, I didn't have much time to setup the camera, so I mainly used P mode, AF and the auto-bracketing feature. I shot 2 series of 3 shots each before the girl moved away from that spot. I chose the best series and created this image. Enjoy!
The Panthéon is a building in the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. It was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve, but after many changes now combines liturgical functions with its role as a famous burial place.
And the Panthéon is my favorite building in Paris.

My new toy. After reading much reviews, I finally decided to get it. My girlfriend said, "Why are you getting my mother's era toy!?"

Yashica T4 and Koycera Yashica T4 is the same. Just the Yashica T4 is exported to Europe while Koycera is the name they use in Japan.
