This was on a recent visit to the Zeche Zollern mining museum in Dortmund again and in one of the buildings there was going to be a concert ("Geierabend") later that day and this entrance hall was beautifully decorated ...
well, this set of tins is not a very good but reasonable bargain, I love the flower pattern, and colors combination so much!
The best is that little tin shelf comes with the set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me more than a year before I found the right moment to visit this old train. It is situated on an active rail site where a lot of trains pass by.
After we did a location early morning we decided to pay the Orient Express a visit.
One thing's for sure: They don't make trains like these anymore!
Big sofa's inside the carriage and a lot of space. Made to travel in the most convenient way. Until you check the area where the engineer aka train driver did his job. A big dieselmachine right behind the steering weel and big pipes throughout the room, probably filled with hot fumes or liquids when it was operational. A big contrast to the confortable carriages in the back.
Of these dieselelectric trains only three were built in the 1930's and this piece is the only one left....

"Mirage Gstaad" by Doug Aitken
In the tradition of land-art as a reflection of the dreams and aspirations projected onto the American West, "Mirage Gstaad" presents a continually changing encounter in which subject and object, inside and outside are in constant flux. With every available surface clad in mirror, it both absorbs and reflects the landscape around in such ways that the exterior will seemingly disappear just as the interior draws the viewer into a never-ending kaleidoscope of light and reflection. As "Mirage Gstaad" pulls the landscape in and reflects it back out, this classic one-story suburban house becomes a framing device, a perceptual echo-chamber endlessly bouncing between the dream of nature as pure uninhabited state and the pursuit of its conquest. Situated against the backdrop of Videmanette in Gstaad, "Mirage Gstaad" will bring the idea of the Manifest Destiny and the American West into contact with the European landscape and the tradition of the sublime.

my little brother sleeping under the Christmas tree.
We always bug him about being a little kid. But...he kind of is still a little kid. This is one of those things we don't tease him about :)

Tradition holds that Saint Peter's tomb is below the altar of the basilica. For this reason, many Popes have been interred at St Peter's since the Early Christian period. There has been a church on this site since the 4th century. Construction of the present basilica, over the old Constantinian basilica, began on April 18, 1506 and was completed on November 18, 1626.

The Church of St. Leodegar is the most important church and a landmark in the city. It was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 on the foundation of the Roman basilica which had burnt in 1633. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty Years War and one of the largest and art history rich churches of the German late renaissance period.

a set of postcards i had printed up from moo. the images are from a series of photos i took from the window seat of a flight from new york to las vegas. always top notch quality from moo, i love getting stuff printed by them!

I know its a silly dream but many a lesson can be learnt if you take the time to listen to this tale.

A bit of a polar opposite to this image. Pulled over to the side of the road in the middle of a stormy desert to take this photo. Home for the weekend!
We visited six different wineries yesterday, and one of them was this one: Gill's Pier Winery. It had the most beautiful bar inside and old, gothic architecture and monastary doors. Their wine was delicious too!

Probably been done before somewhere.
Replace the 1x2 orange plate with a tile and add a 2x2 plate behind the seat to move the seat forward (moves the sides back a plate). Creates a nicer overall look, but no attachment points inside the cockpit for controls.
