Those two scraggly door frames in the kitchen have been patched and painted with a fresh glossy coat of white.
Picture Perfect Moments
Even though you’ve gone, I realize I’m not alone.
Looking at Markie, I remember the bind that holds us together.
Though we’ve been through hardships in our life
I’m not giving up on this family. I know you’re in the military
doing a lot of travelling everyday. I keep smiling.
You work hard for what we have
Come rain or come shine my love is for you
and I hope yours is mine
I want you to know my love will never die and you
will always be the father of my child,
my lover as well as my best friend, through
sickness or health, for richer or poorer,
till death do us part.
I love you from the bottom of my heart

Another batch just for me! Gorgeous violet hues, which don't show up quite so rich in the picture on my monitor. I plan to use this somehow with the variegated yarn I'm spinning now.
product: Henry 549 FeatherFinish
I discovered that it was much easier for me to just use my hands (sort of like clay). I wasn't going for a machine-smooth look, and using my hands I could layer the mixture to create a weathered texture.

Almost done! Now I just need to do one final smoothing and then apply the waterproof coating.
Making a pair of socks for a friend using some 3IG club yarn. Definitely a softer yarn than the STR, and I'm wondering how it will hold up under hard wear.
I was trying to design a sock that could be used with handpainted yarns and still allow the pattern to show through. I am not happy with the results, but I think I'll make myself knit the second sock, rather than frogging the first.
Version one was a gift for my hubby; version 2 has been commissioned by a friend. I'm not completely happy with it at the moment, but when it is done, I am sure it will look fine.
One major difference is that this time I was actually planning on following the "official" colour scheme (itself a bit crazy, as there are several variations on what is "official"), but I really don't like the white. In version 1, I used a light grey, though from photos of the original, I suspect "oatmeal" or even "ivory" is really the best choice. Likely that white stripe will be the only one in this scarf.
