day 1
(googlemaps/wikipedia inform me I was sitting on the ruins of the arch of Augustus. Apt, as our pages and pages of reading about him is what's keeping me from drawing more in the first place.)
Changing Masks
faces of my life. ever changing, melding together. the side that the world sees; happy; full of bubbling energy. laughing with people, and caring about people. no one gets under the shell. it's hard from years of constant use. who am I? am I a reflection that I see in the glass before me, or the image being reflected? where are the lines of my convictions about life and love; sharp and harsh in some places and blurred and changing in others. the feeling of detachment; floating about the world and observing all that goes on below, but not a part of it. caged behind the bars of tradition and who I am supposed to be and how I am supposed to act. but the doors remain closed.

I really like the way this crock pot roving turned out. Salmon with blues
ranging from pale to navy, with some hints of purple here and there. The
Shetland/mohair roving is so wonderful with color. I'm not sure I can sell
it!
