Mary Jourdain is one hundred and ten years old, as far as anyone can tell. She lives on the Lac La Croix Reserve in Ontario. I don’t know a whole lot about her, but she is my oldest living relative. Every year at the Lac La Croix and Lake Vermillion powwow there is an honor song for her. Even though she’s pretty old, the last time I seen her she was still able to get up and walk. Some people say she could even be one hundred and twelve years old, but she can’t remember what year she was born.
Work on the library continues.... We need to finish painting, stain and put up trim, then move in the bookcases and a rug. Yay!
An image for me to use for Ravelry projects where I don't want to post pictures because it would spoil the surprise. Gift picture from openclipart.org/detail/210200/misc-bag-gift-box-wrapped
The Children of the Sunflower Fields
We are the children of the sunflower fields. Our parents and grandparents came here to work in the fields. they raised their children here. Now we live here, there, and everywhere. We are like the flowers in the fields, blowing and growing, taking root in the ground. People think we are beautiful like the golden sun smiling down. We are everywhere, in the whole fifty states of this country.
I did a picture for my cousin Jessica.
I made it seem like there’s a lot of spirits by her because it seems like they watch over her a lot. The spirits take care of her when she is lonely
that way she never feels like she is alone. She’s sad but the spirits takes care of her.
