The well trodden path to the Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye..

Looking down Glen Sligachan on the Isle Of Skye. In November the island is very beautiful and the sun does comes straight down this glen.

Another sunny day in The Small Isles

This 4x1 panorama of the Isle of Lismore was taken from Greenacre Bay near Oban.

Greenacre Bay - known locally as Wee Ganavan - is a small sandy bay approximately 3 km from Oban. The Isle of Lismore is a 10 mile long Inner Hebridean island near Oban that was once an important centre for early Celtic Christianity. There are two 13th-century castles and a number of Bronze Age cairns on the island.

Travelling on the bus from Craignure to Finnphort, Isle of Mull, Scotland, I saw these dreamy fields of Gold along the way.

Thanks again to all who stop to look - and of course to those kind enough to leave a comment/add to their favourites.

The white house - The imposing backdrop of the Black Cuillin sitting beneath a heavy sky dominates the scene with the diminutive Allt Dearg cottage nestling next to the burn.

Kerrera is a small island at the mouth of Oban Bay. The ferry (slightly left of center) is located about 4km from Oban town centre and crosses the 600 metres wide Sound of Kerrerais. This panorama was taken from the hills to the south west of Oban.

To all Flickr fans, I hope you are having a nice summer. In spring I was lucky to return to Isle of May, after over 10 years since my first visit. This time, we were greeted by stunning weather and lots of sealife. Also had slightly better camera gear. :)

Also been lucky to see more islands this year and recently went camping to explore the Scottish Isle of Mull, located at the inner hebrides, and what a stunning place. A happy place by the turquoise blue water together with the best person 💙

The Hebrides

Can’t believe it was 5 years (2012) when we went here. Have five lots of items to post. This is the first. A very beautiful place to visit with the weather on your side, could imagine it to be bleak.

Wild coast - Breezy conditions and some choppy conditions across Loch Scavaig with the waves crashing in onto this wild coastline.

The iconic view over to the dramatic Black Cuillin with some excellent late afternoon sunlight catching the rocks at Elgol.

Taken on the cliffs of Sanday during a recent trip to the Isle of Canna.

Canna is the most Northwesterly of the Small Isles which lie off the coast of Skye. It is home to over 20,000 breeding Seabirds but is a haven for nature of all varieties.

Castle Stalker – in the Gaelic, Stalcaire, meaning Hunter or Falconer – is believed originally to have been the site of a Fortalice (a small fortified building) belonging to the MacDougalls when they were Lords of Lorn, and built around 1320.

Castle Stalker is a four-storey tower house or keep picturesquely set on a tidal islet on Loch Laich, an inlet off Loch Linnhe. It is about 1.5 miles north-east of Port Appin, Argyll, Scotland.

The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Located at the top of Loch Shiel in the West Highlands of Scotland, the viaduct overlooks the Glenfinnan Monument and the waters of Loch Shiel.

Famous for being a part of the Harry Potter movie series, the viaduct became an overnight star. The design is brilliant, with the largest of the 21 spans extending up to 50 feet. The construction of the viaduct took close to 4 years, from 1897 to 1901. It also boasts of being Scotland’s longest concrete railway bridge, stretching to 380 meters and it also crosses the River Finnan at the height of 100 feet.

The Bealach na Bà is a curvy mountainous road located in the Applecross peninsula, Highland, Scotland. This twisting, single-track mountain road is the third highest road in Scotland rising up to 626 metres (2,054 ft) above the sea level. It's one of the most scenic drives in the world. The view shot in the background is looking back at the Isle of Skye and the waters of the Inner Sound and Loch Carron. The photograph does not give enough justice to the incredible height and surroundings of this amazing viewing point.

Through the cloisters - A view of through the cloisters at Iona Abbey and into the grassed central courtyard.

The abbey is located on the holy Isle of Iona, just off the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland. Iona is considered to be the most holy place in Scotland as it marks the birthplace of Christianity in the country; St Columba founded the Benedictine monastery on the island in AD 563.

On my motorhome tour around Skye I saw Golden Eagles, Porpoises and Red Squirrels for the first time in the wild but this was the only noteworthy wildlife shot that I came away with!

I got as close as I could to this Hooded Crow, which are numerous on Skye although I never saw a regular Carrion Crow, and captured the moment it took flight from the harbour railing. Captured at Portree Harbour on The Isle of Skye, Scotland.

I just fancied uploading something a bit different today - enjoy!

I noticed this triangular shaped cloud sitting above Dun I (333ft), the highest point on the Isle of Iona, Scotland. It reminded me of the capstone as it was perfectly placed with Dun I to make this great pyramid impression. The sea in the background gave me perspective.

For those of you following my route round Mull and all the shots taken in the rain I have to confess that my camera stayed dry for this one but as you can see from the storm clouds if I had waited a few minutes to take this I would have been soaked-again!

With the tide in and some nice light we couldn't not stop on our trip to get a few photos of the boat wrecks at Salen on Mull
