I thought this looked like those 70's tie-dye wall hangings. My daughter said it reminded her of the rays around the head of the Virgin Mary.

Ink transfer - Made in 1972 before color copying, and way before anything digital. This image was made from photos in a fashion magazine, using lighter fluid and rubbing with a spoon, on heavy card stock.
Sorry, no dogs. However, good things to happen to people who save a lot of stuff and seldom get around to cleaning the house. I had this box which I thought contained some old slides (not the interesting kind). I am very slowly going through things to find stuff for the antique mall, so I looked in the box (planning on putting it in recycling). To my very great surprise and joy it contained a large collection of steropticon slides (cards), which I had thought had been stolen years ago. There are also quite a number of these ink transfer images - which I made in 1972. I will start on scanning and posting the stereo slides as I can - and will also share these images. My brother will be happy to see that they almost all feature pretty girls.
My inkjet cartridge holds just 6ml of ink. That's just over a teaspoon costing approximately £8*. If I was to buy enough ink to fill a wine bottle it would cost me £1000.
Pictured is a shot glass with 6ml of wine and a single colour cartridge for an HP Photosmart printer.
I pay an estimated £40 for a full set of cartridges and typically they will print approximately 100 pages so that's about 40p per A4 print.
*I am aware of course there are other costs such as packaging involved.
ink tank experiments, taken by putting drops of red & black ink into a fish tank & taking a macro photograph using vintage tamron adaptall 105/2.5mm lens on extension tubes on 5dii & lit with studio flashes
Some experiments of shooting ink bubbles in water. These three shots were shot with a 100mm macro lens with my Canon AE-1. If I remember right, these were all lit with a black-light and a few led's. They were all bulb exposures, and I think I just exposed them by gut instinct, since there was so little light.
In today’s review I take a look at another permanent black ink…

I mixed isoprophyl alcohol with cheapo ancient powder dyes for the green, purple, blue and orange. The yellow and turquoise are alcohol and acrylic paint.
I'm guessing the colors would be stronger if I used new dye powders instead of crusty ones that have been hanging around for 20 years. They are still fun!
