Drawing of one of my sketches: pen, ink, coloured pencils. When I sketch only one animal (in this case one pelican from Avifauna – see the previous picture) I try different poses in the same drawing. Because animals move so quickly, it's fun to draw this way. Sometimes I use my sketches for other works. But sketches are also happy memories, just a kind of diary...
One of 4 early ms. marginal sketches in a copy of Giovanni Boccaccio's Filocolo, printed in Venice on 24 December 1488 by Peregrinus de Pasqualibus (ISTC ib00744000):

The leaves of this copy are closely cropped at all margins with damage to each sketch. A ms. table headed "T.D.T. L. SS." appears on leaf s4v; it records the locations of the sketches (each denoted by an initial: S, R, C, and P, respectively) in order of appearance by the folio number of the facing leaf.

I am determined to do a drawing showcasing each set of Inkdrop samples I receive from Gouletpens. Since November 2014 was themed; Autumn Leaves, I thought that I'd just continue to roll with yet another tree.

We went Iceland and came back with a ton of pictures. Now is the time to relive the magic and wonders of Iceland again with ink and watercolor.
3 year old Ayush began to paint with coffee. "It's too light," he decided. "I want it to be darker." He began to mix the coffee with diluted Chinese calligraphy ink, drawing lines with stems. I asked him what they were.
"Creatures," he told me, "lots of creatures."
He asked for "darker black" and then began to paint a mass of energetic swirls over his "creatures".
"The creatures are hiding in the bushes now," he told us. Then he added more wet ink: "They're getting wet now!"

I have to say I really like the combination of the dark blue ink with gold particles. It reminds me of kimono and Japanese lacquer work :)
