Torre Piacentini e' stata costruita dal 1935 al 1940 ed e' alta 108 metri, 120 con le strutture che si sono succedute alla sua sommita', distribuiti su 31 piani.
All'ultimo piano ospita la Terrazza Martini, oggi ribattezzata terrazza Colombo e sede di Primocanale.
E' stata la piu' alta costruzione italiana ed europea in cemento armato dell'epoca.
Grattacielo piu' alto d'Italia fino alla costruzione della Torre Breda di Milano, nel 1954.
Grattacielo piu' alto d'Europa fino alla costruzione della Kotel'niceskaja nabereznaja di Mosca, nel 1952.
Attualmente, e' l'edificio piu' alto della citta', ed uno dei piu' alti d'Italia.
Nelle forme richiama il Torrione, dello stesso Piacentini, realizzato a Brescia nel 1932, alto 57 metri.
Ribattezzata Terrazza Colombo nel 1989, e' stata sede della presentazione delle manifestazioni colombiane del 1992.

Neowise was addicting for us and we found ourselves where the skis were predicted to be clear. We ended up at Carrizo Plains on this night and I was able to get both the setting moon and the Comet . The moon is actually just a crescent, but with the 10 second exposure it appeared fuller.
An interesting note: The Satellite WISE was launched from our very own Vandenberg AFB on 12/14/2009 for the purpose of Wide Field Infared exploration. In Sept of 2010 it ran out of the necessary cooling hydrogen for that purpose and went into hibernation. It was reactivated in Sept of 2013 to use the still viable camera to search for Near Earth Objects (NEO), thus officially being renamed to NEOWISE. It discovered the Comet which they also named NEOWISE in March of 2020.

Love the trees at Los Osos Oaks but such a challenging area to photograph. Would love to see them in fog, but that never seems to happen. I decided to try some IR there and it seemed to deal with the contrasty light a little better.

This image was taken on a field in Germany. The camera used was an Olympus OMD EM 5Mark2 with an Olympus Pro M. 12-40 lens.
Produced was the picture with LR 5 and Color Efex Pro 4.
Super busy today at relay for life weekend. So,I must post and run but will catch up tomorrow. Today I have an alt version of an older post in B&W
