It was good to see Patti Smith I have admired her work for many years . She personifies what good rock should be full of energy , edgy and slightly dangerous . I was listening to Little Richards music the other day he could really rock . Patti came to the fore in the late seventies when the Punk movement brought rock back to its roots from being destroyed by the self indulgence of progressive rock: Yes ,Pink Floyd et al.

Cappella Notre-Dame-de-Rocamadour.
La prima cappella fu costruita nel 1183
Questo luogo di culto non deve il suo nome al pellegrinaggio di un prete medievale a Rocamadour nel Quercy, come spesso si pensa, ma al basamento in pietra su cui fu costruita la cappella all'estremità del Sillon, la Roc'h a ma dour (dal bretone Roc'h = roccia, am a = nel mezzo, e Dour = acqua, cioè la “roccia in mezzo alle acque”).
Sarebbe imprudente fornire una data precisa per la costruzione dell'edificio. In vari documenti troviamo date che si contraddicono tra loro. Notre-Dame-de-Rocamadour è menzionata in particolare in un breve di papa Gregorio XI , datato 1372, che concede indulgenze ai fedeli che avrebbero contribuito alla ricostruzione del monumento.
Il che fa supporre che in precedenza ci sarebbe stata una cappella. Sembra tuttavia che si possa datare la costruzione, tenendo conto dell'iscrizione sul frontone ovest nell'abbreviazione usata all'epoca: “L'anno 1527 fu fondata la cappella Notre-Dame du Roc. »
La costruzione è stata lenta.
Sopra l'iscrizione sullo stesso frontone si leggono le seguenti date: 1610, 1647, 1683.
Seguono i nomi dei rettori D. Myttern, Torrec, Kéraudren, D. Palud, che restaurarono l'edificio.
Il campanile fu decapitato durante la battaglia di Trez-Rouz in poi18 giugno 1694 da una palla di cannone anglo-olandese e mai restaurato.

Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Rocamadour.
The first chapel was built in 1183
This place of worship does not owe its name to the pilgrimage of a medieval priest to Rocamadour in Quercy, as is often thought, but to the stone base on which the chapel was built at the end of the Sillon, the Roc'h a ma dour (from the Breton Roc'h = rock, am a = in the middle, and Dour = water, i.e. the “rock in the middle of the waters”).
It would be imprudent to give a precise date for the construction of the building. In various documents we find dates that contradict each other. Notre-Dame-de-Rocamadour is mentioned in particular in a brief of Pope Gregory XI, dated 1372, which grants indulgences to the faithful who would contribute to the reconstruction of the monument.
This suggests that there would have been a chapel before. However, it seems that the construction can be dated, taking into account the inscription on the west pediment in the abbreviation used at the time: "The year 1527 was founded the chapel Notre-Dame du Roc."
The construction was slow.
Above the inscription on the same pediment, the following dates can be read: 1610, 1647, 1683.
The names of the rectors D. Myttern, Torrec, Kéraudren, D. Palud, who restored the building, follow.
The bell tower was decapitated during the battle of Trez-Rouz on 18 June 1694 by an Anglo-Dutch cannonball and never restored.
