It was nice to enjoy the quiet of the evening but the mossies were beginning to emerge and it was getting cooler. Time to go home - so I had to give credit to the young lady for allowing her companion the indulgence of just a few more casts.
.... I took a day off from family duties on Battle of Britain Day 15th September, a nostalgic day out in search of Spitfires and in remembrance of my father who had served in the RAF during the war, and whose birthday fell on that day.
Sadly I saw only one Spitfire (first comment box) and that was too high for my camera and flew very fast, blink and you missed it. The people of Southampton were more than a little disappointed since the famous aircraft was developed here before the war.
Anyhow I enjoyed my sunny day of freedom sitting on the cliff top besides the sea watching the waves and clouds and boats.

The dunes of the Skeleton coast south of Sandwich Bay are vast open terrain. We did not see anyone other than our party of 20 for the two days in the desert. Riding in SUVs into this vast land goes into the books as one of the thrills of a lifetime. Highly recommend the experience.

It's been a fun day today. Why? Because it's my birthday. For dinner we treated ourselves with a "to go" order from our favorite Italian restaurant. And then comes the indulgence part - Tiramisu.

The birthday candles were the ones with colored flames. Alas, the flames just didn't show up in any of the pictures I took, so you're just getting the "Plain Jane" shot.
** And to make things better, no cooking was required, so no dishes to wash!

Tasty, relaxing, and a little bit naughty, a drink is an Indulgent Pleasure.
After delivering the blankets to the cat rescue today we decided to stop off and treat ourselves to waffles at Krause Berry Farm. The options today were strawberry or pumpkin and surprisingly I choose the berries over pumpkin. I figured I had so much pumpkin over Thanksgiving I would skip it this time. One thing I did learn though, next time we go I will check and see if they do a half order!

The Peony, so luscious and romantic, pure joy for all the senses.
The common thread is that the flower always denotes luxury and indulgence.
