Not sure exactly why but I really like this simple (simply crazy!) photo of the trunk and branch of a live oak in our front yard. Here's to TGIF! Got a dental visit first thing this morning I'm not at all looking forward to but then it is full speed ahead through the day.

I had some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket, so I treated myself to this vintage perfume bottle from one of my favourite local shops. Amongst other things... :)
These mini mince pies (less than 2 inches when whole) are a perfect treat during the holidays. But don’t over indulge …!
To be fair, you'd be hard pressed to find many calories in these cakes. The one in the centre is ½" high, including the base. Bearing that in mind, you may not be surprised to learn that I didn't even attempt to measure one of the chocolates. :)

It was too beautiful a day to spend shut up in the office. Hettie called her boss feigning wing ache and prepared herself for a glorious day in the summer sun.
The Evening Grosbeaks weren't the only ones enjoying the sunflower seeds, this Downy Woodpecker was having his fair share as well as of the suet.
