Downy Woodpecker (male).
A sparrow-sized woodpecker at 6 inches in length. Black and white with the males only having a small red patch on the nape of the head. Similar to Hairy Woodpeckers but tamer and smaller and with a short stubby bill.
Its habitat includes woodlands, parks and gardens.
It resides from Alaska across Canada and south throughout the United States except the southwest.

Wisteria
is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae (Leguminosae), that includes ten species of woody climbing bines that are native to China, Korea, and Japan and as an introduced species to the Eastern United States. Some species are popular ornamental plants. An aquatic flowering plant with the common name wisteria or 'water wisteria' is in fact Hygrophila difformis, in the family Acanthaceae.
Wisterias climb by twining their stems around any available support. W. floribunda (Japanese wisteria) twines clockwise when viewed from above, while W. sinensis twines counterclockwise. This is an aid in identifying the two most common species of wisteria.
They can climb as high as 20 m (66 ft) above the ground and spread out 10 m (33 ft) laterally. The world's largest known wisteria is in Sierra Madre, California, measuring more than 1 acre (0.40 ha) in size and weighing 250 tons. Planted in 1894, it is of the 'Chinese lavender' variety.
The leaves are alternate, 15 to 35 cm long, pinnate, with 9 to 19 leaflets. The flowers are produced in pendulous racemes 10 to 80 cm long, similar to those of the genus Laburnum, but are purple, violet, pink or white. There is no yellow on the leaves. Flowering is in spring (just before or as the leaves open) in some Asian species, and in mid to late summer in the American species and W. japonica. The flowers of some species are fragrant, most notably W. sinensis. Wisteria species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including brown-tail.
The seeds are produced in pods similar to those of Laburnum, and, like the seeds of that genus, are poisonous. All parts of the plant contain a saponin called wisterin, which is toxic if ingested, and may cause dizziness, confusion, speech problems, nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, diarrhea and collapse.
There is debate over whether the concentration outside of the seeds is sufficient to cause poisoning. Wisteria seeds have caused poisoning in children and pets of many countries, producing mild to severe gastroenteritis and other effects.

Between 8 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches in length. Reddish brown above with a white belly with 1 white stripe bordered by 2 black stripes on sides ending at the rump and 2 white stripes on back much thinner than side stripes. They have a dark center stripe down the back and pale facial stripes above and below the eyes. The tail is brown on the tip and edged with black. They also have prominent ears.
The Eastern Chipmunk's habitat includes open deciduous woodlands, forest edges, brushy areas, bushes and stone walls in cemeteries and around houses.
They range from southeastern Canada and to the northeastern United States from North Dakota in the west to the Carolinas and Virginia in the east.

These plants just do not look real but as though they have been moulded from plastic, their colours are just brilliant. At the nursery I saw red, orange pink and this greenish shade. This is SOOC with just a small border added.
A member of the arum (Araceae) family, this tropical American genus includes some 900 species of evergreen perennials and climbers. Quite often seen as indoor plants, they are also very popular in tropical gardens. Anthuriums are also grown as cut flowers, and are an important industry in Hawaii, where at the peak of production in the 1980s around 30 million flower stems were shipped to the worlds markets. Although some species have been used medicinally where they occur naturally, all parts of the plant are toxic and such use, even externally, is not encouraged.

Anthuriums develop into a cluster of short upright stems bearing large, elliptical, lance- or arrowheadshaped leaves, which are usually held upright on stiff stalks. The distinctive flowerheads are made up of a flattened, shield-shaped, petal-like bract known as a spathe, which surrounds a protruding cylindrical spike embedded with many tiny flowers, called the spadix. Both the spathe and spadix tend to be the same color, usually bright red, though other colors occur among the hybrids.

fungus (plural: fungi or funguses is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as yeasts and molds, as well as the more familiar mushrooms. These organisms are classified as a kingdom, separately from the other eukaryotic kingdoms, which by one traditional classification include Plantae, Animalia, Protozoa, and Chromista.
A characteristic that places fungi in a different kingdom from plants, bacteria, and some protists is chitin in their cell walls. Fungi, like animals, are heterotrophs; they acquire their food by absorbing dissolved molecules, typically by secreting digestive enzymes into their environment. Fungi do not photosynthesize. Growth is their means of mobility, except for spores (a few of which are flagellated), which may travel through the air or water. Fungi are the principal decomposers in ecological systems. The discipline of biology devoted to the study of fungi is known as mycology (from the Greek μύκης mykes, mushroom). Abundant worldwide, most fungi are inconspicuous because of the small size of their structures, and their cryptic lifestyles in soil or on dead matter. Fungi include symbionts of plants, animals, or other fungi and also parasites. They may become noticeable when fruiting, either as mushrooms or as molds. Fungi perform an essential role in the decomposition of organic matter and have fundamental roles in nutrient cycling and exchange in the environment. They have long been used as a direct source of human food, in the form of mushrooms and truffles; as a leavening agent for bread; and in the fermentation of various food products, such as wine, beer, and soy sauce. Since the 1940s, fungi have been used for the production of antibiotics, and, more recently, various enzymes produced by fungi are used industrially and in detergents. Fungi can break down manufactured materials and buildings, and become significant pathogens of humans and other animals. The fungus kingdom encompasses an enormous diversity of taxa with varied ecologies, life cycle strategies, and morphologies ranging from unicellular aquatic chytrids to large mushrooms. However, little is known of the true biodiversity of Kingdom Fungi, which has been estimated at 2.2 million to 3.8 million species.[5] Of these, only about 148,000 have been described,[6] with over 8,000 species known to be detrimental to plants and at least 300 that can be pathogenic to humans.[7] Ever since the pioneering 18th and 19th century taxonomical works of Carl Linnaeus, Christiaan Hendrik Persoon, and Elias Magnus Fries, fungi have been classified according to their morphology (e.g., characteristics such as spore color or microscopic features) or physiology. Advances in molecular genetics have opened the way for DNA analysis to be incorporated into taxonomy, which has sometimes challenged the historical groupings based on morphology and other traits. Ninna-ji is the head temple of the Omuro school of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism. Located in western Kyoto, Japan, it was founded in AD 888 by the retired Emperor Uda. It is part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto", a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ninna-ji was founded in the early Heian period. In 886, Emperor Kōkō ordered the construction of the Nishiyama Goganji Temple to bless the nation and propagate Buddhist teachings, but he did not live to see its completion. Emperor Uda saw the construction to its completion in 888 and named it "Ninna" after the regnal year of the late Emperor Kōkō's reign. From 888 to 1869 it was traditional for reigning Emperors to send a son to the temple to take over as head priest when a vacancy arose.
After retiring from his throne, Emperor Uda became the first Monzeki, or aristocratic priest, of Ninna-ji. From then on until the end of the Edo period, the temple saw a succession of head priests of imperial lineage.
In 1467, the temple was destroyed by fire and fighting in the Ōnin War. It was rebuilt roughly 150 year later, thanks to the eldest son of Emperor Go-Yōzei, Kakushin Hosshinnō, who enlisted the help of Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. The resurrection coincided with the rebuilding of the Imperial Palace in Kyoto and thus received imperial funding.
The tradition of having aristocratic or persons of imperial lineage serve as chief of the temple ended with the 30th Monzeki, Junnin Hosshinnō in the late Edo period.
Most of the surviving buildings date from the 17th century, and include a five-story pagoda and an orchard of dwarf cherry trees. The temple itself features some beautifully painted screen walls, and a beautiful walled garden.

The coastal pine forest in Ånderdalen includes areas of virgin forest with twisted pines that are more than 600 years, countless pine growing on marble and coarse wood debris.
Khobi Monastery is located in Samegrelo, Khobi Municipality, in the village of Nojikhevi. It is one of the most important monuments of the XIII-XIV centuries. The monastic ensemble includes a temple, a palace, a bell tower, a fence and the remains of ancillary buildings. The oldest document that mentions the Khobi Monastery is the agape included in the Jvari Monastery Chronicle. The construction of the temple is associated with the names of King Gubaz, David the Builder, Queen Tamar and Tsotne Dadiani. The church received special attention from the family of Shergil Dadiani. The temple preserves frescoes of Shergil, his wife Nateli and the young Tsotne. Khobi Monastery was also known for its cultural and religious heritage. Before the establishment of the Soviet government, the robe of the Virgin Mary, the thigh of St. George, the arm of St. Marine, the hand of St. Kvirike, the cross of Queen Tamar and other relics were rested in the church of Khobi. Information about this can be found in the records of the Italian missionary Archangelo Lambert. He describes that the robe of the Mother of God was shown in the Khobi Monastery, which was highly respected by the locals.
Khobi architectural complex includes a temple, a palace, a bell tower, a fence and the remains of ancillary buildings. Khobi Temple is a hall-type building with late additions: the late 14th-century chapel, as well as corridors from the south and west. The building does not belong to any of the established types of Georgian architecture: it is a domed building, the arches of which create a cross space in the interior. The temple was rebuilt several times, it was constructed in several stages. The north-west and south-west corners were initially separated into separate chapels, but later the walls were torn down and the chapels were connected to the main space. The west and south facades are lined with an open gallery along their entire length, ending in a closed chapel of the south facade. Khobi church is richly decorated with carvings. Above the entrance to the chapel, on a specially smoothed large stone, there is a nine-line inscription that tells the story of the construction of the southern gallery and the chapel. The interior of the temple is painted. The conch of the apse depicts the Virgin Mary with a child and angels. In the upper part of the west wall are frescoes of the Savior, Mary and John. The walls of the chapel depict the crucifixion, the ascension to hell, the anointing women at the Savior's coffin, the descent from the cross and mourn, and the north wall - the Savior in the coffin. On the east side of the north wall are depicted donors: Vameq Dadiani and his wife Marekh. The temple is surrounded by a fence, which was restored in the 70s of the XX century. To the south-east of the temple, there is a domed bell tower built of stone. The bell tower was previously painted. It has seven windows. Khobi bell tower is one of the largest in Georgia.
Khobi Palace is a rectangular building in the plan. It is built of white rough stone of different sizes. On the lower floor of the chamber, a cellar is arranged. The floor of the upper floor rests on pilasters. The west wall of the second floor is opened by four large arched windows that start directly from the floor. The edges of the windows, like the arches, are carved with well-adjusted stones. There are many niches of different sizes and shapes in the palace. Fireplaces are preserved. The building was plastered inside and out. Khobi Monastery has the status of an immovable cultural monument of national importance.

Great Blue Heron.
Between 39 to 52 inches long with a wingspan of nearly 6 feet. A common large mainly grayish heron with a pale or yellowish colored bill. It is often mistaken for a Sandhill Crane but flies with its neck folded and not extended like the Sandhill Crane. In southern Florida an all-white form, the "Great White Heron", differs from the Great Egret in that they are larger with greenish-yellow legs rather than the black legs of the Great Blue Heron.
Their habitat includes lakes, ponds, rivers and marshes.
They range from Alaska east to Nova Scotia and south to Mexico in the west and the West Indies in the east. They winter as far notrh as southern Alaska, the central United States and southern New England.

An alpaca (Vicugna pacos) is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance.
There are two breeds of alpaca; the Suri alpaca and the Huacaya alpaca.

Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items, similar to wool. These items include blankets, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, a wide variety of textiles and ponchos in South America, and sweaters, socks, coats and bedding in other parts of the world. The fiber comes in more than 52 natural colors as classified in Peru, 12 as classified in Australia and 16 as classified in the United States.
