On Thursday 29 November 2012, Dance United Yorkshire presents an extract from Inbetween at the Lawrence Batley Theatre as part of Kirklees Council’s Jump and Shout.
Young people from Dance United Yorkshire’s current project will celebrate the completion of their project and join other dance companies on stage for this popular showcase.
Kirklees Council’s Jump and Shout, showcasing the talents of the area’s young dancers, has been held in Huddersfield for almost 15 years. Inbetween, choreographed by Helen Linsell and Carly Annable-Coop, recently received great acclaim when performed in London at The Place, as part of A Holding Space.
Tickets for the performance are available from the Lawrence Batley Theatre’s Box Office: 01484 430528.

The beginning of my self portraits. Up until this shoot, I had never stepped in front of my own camera to create any artistic visions I had in my head. I remember being very unsure of myself and being very uncomfortable even in my own backyard. I like to look back on this image sometimes and remind myself where I started.

I call this the
"Inbetween Corner" because when I was first married I moved into my husband's one bedroom apartment. No Doll/Collection room there. I had a Collector Corner! Luckily, we were not there long!
A better way to meet halfway. InBetween finds a midpoint between two iPhone users and then uses that midpoint to recommend a meeting place.
It’s perfect for anyone who’s looking for a central location to meet.
InBetween can find a meeting place based on both users’ current GPS location or from their saved default location. Users can choose to meet at a bar, cafe, hotel, park, restaurant, shopping mall or supermarket.
Just press the giant “Meet Me InBetween” button to set up a new meeting. You’ll set the details of the meeting and click to invite anyone from your Contact list. If they are already a user, they’ll be notified by email and/or text message that you’d like to meet them. If not, they’ll be sent an email inviting them to download the application.
Because InBetween pulls the GPS location from your friend’s phone, the program needs their permission first. So they’ll need to accept your invitation. Once they accept, you can go back and forth within the application until you both agree on a meeting place.
We hope you enjoy using InBetween. If you do, please tell your friends - it's free and it’s bringing the world together, halfway. If you don’t, please tell us. We are already working on the next version and we’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

On my regular way home there is normally no real opportunity to think about my project. But I now started to put some spare time inbetween the metro and the bus. And I got lucky straight away. I had about 20 minutes until my bus departure and Kolja made his way over to me.With his guitar (sad that I couldn't capture it in the regular frame) and his hat, he stood out of the crowd. He was keen for my project straight away and pleasantly chatted with me. Koljar just played as a street musician just around the corner. As a music event manager he is completly into music.
Thank you Kolja. I hope you like your portrait.
