Didn't have time to do grocery shopping. Initially I was thinking to make avocado & tomato sandwiches but then asked myself:
Why not pasta? ;)
Bhakti Tribal is a Fat Chance Belly Dance Sister Studio that teaches and performs American Tribal Style (ATS) Belly Dance, which is a totally improvised dance form.
I just went for it and kept experimenting. Many things should have happened before others but I still think it look precious...

Oliver Lake Organ Quartet
A highly respected figure on the US music scene, alto/soprano saxophonist Oliver Lake is often described as an 'avant-garde' musician, but his music has strong roots in the jazz tradition, and his open-minded approach has seen him collaborate with artists as diverse as the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Arditti String Quartet, Bjork, A Tribe Called Quest and Me'shell Ndegeocello. Oliver is also a founding member of the World Saxophone Quartet and Trio 3, as well as leading his own ensembles. Oliver formed his Organ Quartet in 2005. It features Jared Gold on the Hammond B3 organ, Oliver Lake on alto sax, Chris Beck on drums, and Russell Gunn on trumpet. The group recently released its second album, Plan. Oliver will also perform a solo concert, incorporating poetry and saxophone improvisations.
"Building on a basic blues language, Mr Lake adds influences from around the world : his music is a flow of images and colors that change rapidly but beguilingly, like an elegantly edited film." - New York Times

We used some of those round clear plastic plant trays with a hole cut in the center on a few of our buckets, to limit evaporation. We secured them with a plastic tie (a wire tie).
Stage one of homemade samoas! It's a shortbread type cookie dough for the copycat trefoils. Souvenir New Glarus brewery tasting glass and a soda bottle top.
The next step is melting a bunch of caramels and mixing that with shredded coconut I've already toasted. Spread that on top of the cookies.
The final step is melting chocolate, dipping the undersides of the cookies in it, then drizzling the tops with the remaining chocolate.
This is a labor intensive recipe, not really difficult, it just takes time, patience, and a bit of good wine to help the time go by.

I figured, hey, it works with drawing; why not origami? The key to this
sort of exploration is to keep your mind focused on the shapes and
patterns that appear as you are working, and then exploit those within the
confines of the compositional structure. The result is a escheresque
complex of different subjects, related by shape and texture. I'd like to
try this with a more representational style of folding and a larger sheet
of paper at some point, but I don't think I have the technique yet to
create the diverse and versatile forms that would be needed for that sort
of thing.
Folded from (of course) an 8" sheet of bond paper. I took the picture on
the cover of my binder; as you can tell, I like playing with numbers.
Right there I was working on a four-dimensional analogue of Pascal's
triangle; I can post a picture of the whole thing if anyone's interested.

I didn't want to buy a rib roast because they're a bit pricey, so I trimmed these off some rib steaks I got at 99 Ranch. This is the outer ring that surrounds the "eye" of the ribeye.
One of the guys who plays using the hoop said that with the concrete blocks in place, one can even dunk on it.
Kari & Antti, the improvising duo Katriinamies.
They were just so incredible!
Somebody in the audience, whoever wanted, would throw a subject, an idea about a song, somebody else would ask for a certain music style, and the duo improvised immediately, making lyrics and melody on the spot. It was amazing! And good!

As usual, I went backstage to ask them to pose for me.
