Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a yellow day at Color my World Daily and since I was super busy lately (Easter + more work after a statutory holiday on Monday), I had to improvise. I took this picture a few weeks ago for Easter. Of course, I forgot everything about it ! And since I find it cute ( love the tiny chicks!!) and Easter was only few days ago, I decide to publish it today. Just in time for the yellow day :-).

Happy yellow day my friends !! See you later !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

Crazy Tuesday -"Imperfection"

We traveled to Sequoia National Park in winter. It's a challenging time to visit this location, even when there isn't a federal government shutdown reducing the staff to only the essential rangers required for safety.

Unfortunately, though near the entrance the skies were relatively clear, and the temperatures were in the 50s, the conditions at elevation were thick fog with ice covered roads. Worse, many people were taking advantage of the free entry to the park and ignoring the posted signs for snow chains. So, getting to the Sequoia groves proved impossible, and we returned to our hotel, but not before seeing these beautiful gnarled old oak trees near the entrance in the soft warm setting sunlight.

Visit Sequoia National Park; but, be advised, winter travel can be difficult, and give the rangers their due - especially when they are working at skeleton levels with no pay during a government shutdown!

Many thanks for the visits, comments and faves!

You may remember this archive photo of Daisy on some folded clothes. When your blanket & cushion aren't in the sun, find somewhere else to sunbathe in comfort - any cosy pullover makes a good substitute blanket!

Happy Caturday.

A little fence I spotted during a late afternoon walk along the river Thames. I loved how they solved the problems of terrain ;) :))

Happy Fence Friday!

Hong Kong ~ 2013

Just moving this up in the stream for a second look (especially for my newer followers; I hope that others who have already seen it will also enjoy seeing it again). I do this from time to time.

That’s the problem with improvising to catch the moment and at the end of the day what you really caught. So it was to my surprise when I come across this sequence of photos, and to be honest, not to blow my trumpet, I do like it, a lot. I did have the right gear in the bag to catch this scene but whether it was down to being lazy or just afraid I’d miss it I just used my attached lens a 70-300mm dialled in the exposure of the brightest area and proceeded to take 5 vertical shots.

A number of old fishing vessels have been put to use as workshops at the small fishing port at Holy Island. They have been upturned, halved and provided with doors. What a great piece of improvisation that is. In the background can be seen Lindisfarne Castle.

A friend in RL has started sending recipes to friends, showing us different ways to cook good, healthy food with minimum ingredients and using as little resource as possible. Given the world's current situation, it's probably one of the best ways we can help others. Show them how to conserve food, because shortage is inevitable, especially with people constantly hoarding.

I learned the lesson that in a fireworks event people will stand and more likely in front of you, then if you are taking photos there is the chance that you won't get what you originally thought. The dark on the right is a tree :(.

This is just a little finger exercise, which shows that I am back in everyday life arrived.
